Ship naming

One of the first things the game will ask you to do, is to name your Sidey.
What names will you guys be choosing? :D
And, speaking of names, do you plan on buying the ship nameplates? [smile]

I will be buying nameplates right off the bat. My Sidewinder will be named CHELSEA, after the love of my life. After that, I will name my ships according to their function.

Multi-purpose/cargo ships: Nico (Named after smuggler Nico Okarr from The Old Republic)
Combat ships: Windu (Named after Jedi Master Mace Windu. Complete with purple lasers)
Exploration ships: Atris (Named after Jedi Historian Atris from KOTOR II)

I will not be selling ships, either. So my first combat ship will be "Windu I." My next combat ship will be "Windu II" and so on.

Seriously though, i love how you already have everything pretty much figured out. :)

I name them in Latin after either birds or sea dwelling creatures. No name plates for me.

Fighting ships are normally named after birds of prey or sharks, hauler ships I name after the big whales and my sexy Asp Explorer will be named after the Stingray.

If i'm not mistaken, most (if not all) Faulcon DeLacy ships are named after snakes, so yeah... It's a great choice. :)

I'm a huge Firefly/Serenity fan, so I'm legitimately tempted to name every ship an incremental Serenity. So: Serenity I, Serenity II, Serenity III etc.

For some reason, I read it as "ship shaming". XD
Thought this thread was going to be a battleground to see which ship is better.

Freewinder will be the Lapsed Pacifist. It'll be bounty hunting a lot. :)
Plans for an Adder to join the DRX Grand Day Out expedition, that'll be the Daytripper.
Someday, a long way away, I'll have a tricked-out Exploraconda, the DSS Far Reach.
