PS4 Bug Forum - Teargate

I think this tearing is a British thing. PAL vs NTSC, metric vs English, left side of road vs. right side of road. Any Americans experience this tearing?

old duck I swear.........., ohhh, wait, what? it wasn't you that made this thread lol lol lol[haha]

Maybe the update well fix the tearing since everyone is playing an un-patched version?

Setting the graphics to quality (PS4Pro only I think) reduces the screen tearing for me-
But I've put it on performance mode because I like it a little more, the game seems faster and
Smoother on this setting.

So... Who's going to submit the first bug post about screen tearing? ;)

I noticed this on the livestream the other day, but most assumed it was the capture card handling the stream.

My first thought was that they had turned off V-Sync. If I turn that off on my PC, I see the identical effect seen on the livestream. During the Beta of the XB1 version, Frontier released one update that had V-Sync off in an attempt to improve frame rates, but of course, the tearing was so over the top that everyone was screaming for FDEV to turn it back on and release a new update ASAP. Which they did about 1 week later.

Mwah. Let's see first. Also, reducing head-look seems like a good idea - makes most people feel sick anyway.

You are going to need Head-Look set to a somewhat realistic speed for combat and SRV activities. I guess you can reduce sensitivity if the PS4 version defaults at a high tracking speed, but this is the kind of game that being able to look around while flying/driving is definitely something you are going to want. ;)

I'm afraid it's Deffo there on regular ps4 :( it's by no means game breaking and I think they've done a good job for a first ps4 release but I noticed it in headlook and normal flight around stations without much action going on :(

I hope fdev give some feedback on if they plan on addressing this issue sooner rather than later! :)

It's not a big deal. Beauty is a priority in ED, and I'm sure it'll be dealt with 'soon'. I'm happy if this is the biggest problem, which appears to be the case to me so far.

Out of curiously, why is it some people in the thread are seemingly mocking people for raising the screen tearing issue? It's an issue. I know many fan boys/girls that really want to circle jerk Frontier and bury their heads in the sand and pretend Elite on PS4 is like the second coming but.. seriously?

Played about an hour and a half of training missions and a tiny bit of solo last night immediately after the launch. My PS4 had already downloaded and installed the initial patch before midnight.

I'm on a regular PS4 and definitely see screen-tearing. So far only really noticed it badly when using head-look, and it's by far most noticeable inside stations. I messed around with some of the head-look settings, softening, etc, and thought I got it looking a bit less obtrusive, but that may have just been my wishful perception!

It also appears when using the camera suite. I was having a look around my ship in the hangar and moving the camera around caused really obtrusive multiple tears across the whole screen.

Mocking? Gentle ribbing, more like. Of course it's more of an issue for some people than others.

...and goodbye there, with hyperbole and clichés galore you've made the list kiddo as there's no excuse to be a party pooper.
