HOTAS ISSUES

Thought I'd get this up and running.

Anyone else having serious issues with the HOTAS from Launch?

Button mapping is lost / confusing / duplicated, throttle is either 100% on or 100% off - not analogue as stated, as is stick controls??

Is it just me or...

Glad someone has already gotten started on troubleshooting with HOTAS, however im also curious to know if anyone has or knows of a list with supported joysticks for PS4 and Elite.

The Thrustamaster T. Flight HOTAS 4 is the only supported one at the moment... and its not proving intuitive to use.

BIG issue is the throttle - I expected analogue continuous throttle as it states in the options and set-up but in-game it is either 100% on or 100% off. Have you tried landing with an all or nothing throttle?

SECOND big issue - landing gear deployment is O and down hat as default...which is FUN considering O is also BOOST!!!! try that for giggles.

I have only had the chance to have 30 minutes this morning (most of which was setting up accounts etc...!) but I have to say I was disappointed that there was no HOTAS default setup, so I spent the first training mission backwards and forwards in the options menu to setup the HOTAS. I did find the throttle weird - didn't seem progressive (analogue) so it might not just be you. I will be having another ago as soon as I get home from work today (4.30pm ish) so will see how I get on with some more setup and I will report back.

Hopefully the HOTAS throttle issue is fixed quickly. It must have been working at PAX, as they were using the T. Flight 4 HOTAS to play Elite.

Ditto this. After I calm down a bit I will go back and start from zero again and see if I missed something obvious...would be odd not to be analogue throttle - it is in war thunder.

Were they - I don't think they were, I think they were using the DS4 - in fact I am sure they were! I don't recall ever having seen them fly using it. last PS4 pre-launch Ed was still using the DS4 and they just held up the HOTAS. I find this all surprising given the HOTAS interface is the BIG thing about ED!?

I'm also really disappointed you can't use the both the DS4 and the HOTAS. I wanted to use the HOTAS for flight only and the DS4 for in game menus and the galaxy map - especially because of the touchpad. I can use the DS4 and a Logitech G29 in my racing games - wheel and pedals for driving and the DS4 for menus etc... The HOTAS is really clunky for menus etc... and I haven't even got to the galaxy map yet.

Nope, it's definitely a bug the whole point of the throttle is that it registers a range of values. Did you try it in War Thunder?

No harm in trying. They might tell you where you went wrong

Please do report this, it sounds like it may be a bug. Please include as many details as possible when submitting the report.

It should be in the main menu, under Options / Controls

the very first item (defaults to "Default Context" I think), you need to cycle through to select you controller, I think

I've tried the training missions with the DS4 controller, and am just about to go out and buy the HOTAS - too used to using one on the PC :(
