Alien archeology and other mysteries: Thread 10 - The Canonn

I got the impression the scavengers weren't quite as advanced as the ships seen recently. Maybe this could be an old base from last time they were in the area and the scavengers are older versions of their technology just doing what they were programmed/bred to do. Maybe the small eggs are from the scavengers who have been quietly breeding and working all this time.

I wonder if this is like a birthing chamber. The skeletal like structures strewn about might be from ships that didn't survive being born. Or perhaps it's a cocoon...

I am now stuck[mad]

Try to log off and see if you get the warning that you'll be moved. Might save your butt.

This doesn't seem like a ship to me. It seems like an installation; a superstructure of some kind. Perhaps a city or outpost.

Happened to another commander in my instance .

Anyway, I have two hypothesis:

1 - This is a Klaxian mothership, taken down by Oresrians, the Scavengers are Oresrian drones looking for valuable slavage (maybe data?)
2 - This is an Oresrian planetary base/mothership, it's been taken down by the Klaxians and the Scavengers are Oresrian drones looking for survivors/data about the attack/materials.

I thinkit could be a ship because of the extreme similarity between the structure and the flower ships

Has there been any hard confirmation from devs that we are dealing with more than one type of Thargoid-like race?

Only thing I saw was http://massivelyop.com/2017/06/23/e...hould-be-paying-attention-to-elite-dangerous/

Update 2.4 is the start of something new. Sammarco verified both of the aliens players will be seeing are Thargoids, but suggested that there may be differences. Going out on a limb- one kind is aggressive, the other kind, maybe less so, and players may need to fight at least one side. Since their technology is alien in every sense of the word, the technology that’s been failing against them doesn’t look like it’ll be good enough. It’s like wearing water-elemental battle gear for a year and suddenly having content that focuses on lightning elementals, so there’s a solid chance players may need to build up their arsenals with the new tech when exploring this new area of the game.

Just got some data that says the molecules are infarcts sensitive and are multi use capable. Perhaps their hull can adapt to different types of weapons?

Darn it! I was half way to the recently discovered mega-ship, The Cete, (thanks to 2 white dwarfs and a neutron star (my first!!)) when reports of a giant alien structure started to trickle in.... decided to keep on going to see the ship and the brain-trees nearby (hello very rare mats!) gonna bunk down for the night with a nice overview of the brain-tree fields and double back tomorrow to visit the alien structure! wished i had accces to the CRCR to pick up any goodies that I might find there... g'night CMDR's!

Here's my first half-hour at the site, just the raw footage of the experience, no editing or voice over. I didn't take time for that. More detail, later...
