Galnet report on the discoveries:

https://community.elitedangerous.com/en/galnet/uid/595227c0a05bc55d845830c2

As the galaxy reels from the revelation that the Thargoids have returned to human space, reports have been received that a number of independent pilots have discovered huge Thargoid structures in the Pleiades Sector OS-U c2-7, Col 285 Sector CV-Y d57, Aries Dark Region DB-X d1-63, HIP 19026, and HIP 14909 systems.

Initial reports indicate that the structures are many hundreds of metres in diameter, and consist of a number of organic-shaped elements surrounding a central edifice. There is a clear visual relationship between the structures and the Thargoid vessels sighted in the Pleiades star cluster.

Even more remarkable are reports that the structures encompass large subsurface complexes, accessed via the central edifice. Drone-like machines have also been seen roving the sites.

Professor Ishmael Palin, who played a central role in identifying the so-called Unknown Ships as Thargoid, commented on the discovery:

“This is a remarkable development, and one that raises many questions. What is the purpose of these structures? Are there others out there? And what about the drones? Are they being controlled remotely, or are they autonomous?”

“With each new discovery, we revise our perception of humanity and its place within the cosmos.”

IMHO the right system is the Col 70 system the UP is transmitting to ;)
But we cannot verify it...

Was just throwing the possibility out there. But yes, I do think the most likely candidate is the Col 70 system - it's our best guess.

For clarity's sake, it's not Merope 5 and its moons, as Merope 5 only has 4 moons, not 9.

Probably just coincidence but HIP 14909 has two ammonia worlds, one with ammonia-based life. I took a few passes at all the landfall planets and didn't find anything. Probably will revisit tomorrow just in case.

I am sooooo wishing I had stayed up until 5am and kept flying around the planets, and called in to work today.... I must have missed it when I did flyby of that one.

Anyone care to notice that this middle section looks like it has eggs on the roof? not ot mention that could very well be a thargoid mother hanging from it on some form of hibernating egg sack on the otherside to which it flys the ship like that?

So, having never been involved with lugging around alien objects and watching their alignments, I suppose it could not be as simple and direct as:

Drop Link in current system: the target on the top is somewhere on a plane through the "waist" of the Link.
Drop Artefact in current system: Head points to Merope.
Bring Artefact to Merope, and drop it there: It points toward the top target.
Drop Probe in current system: Larger head points toward system on the right.
Locate that system along the line and drop the probe there, for the last vector to the target.
?

Nope - thats normal - only roughly 8% of all USS spawning in SOI of Ammonia Planets are actually USS degraded emission thread 2 (UP´s) the rest is normal stuff like distress calls, encoded emissions etc.

That's not normal.

We finally have some interactive thargoid-related content - but due to scarcity of required items it is restricted to those who has no life.

Bravo FD.

Restricted to those with no life???? most of us have had UAs and UPs sitting in our ships for months waiting for something to happen......not to mention it only took some people a matter of an hour to find one

The one on the left matches Merope perfectly, right down to the rings.

Absolutely - at first I was confused that there's only four orbits, then I checled the system map - we have 4 pairs of binaries in that system, and looking closely, that is what the map depicts. So this is a done-deal for me.

doubt that you´ll find UP´s in HIP 14909 as the distance to Merope is more than 110 LY (the furthest from Merope ever found was less than 100 LY).
Nevertheless on my way over there to verífy...
