Recomended Hotas Layouts

Ok everyone, the default layout isnt working for me and i want to get playing rather than wasting hours faffing with control layouts.
What are your recomended control schemes?
Also I cant seem to get the hat switch to just act as lookaround without having a look lock toggle

The only thing I changed was to switch boost and target ahead. Of course there is no R3 on the Hotas so headlook doesn't work

I changed all sorts. I have the stick for pitch, roll and yaw obviously with the hat switch as up and down, left and right lateral thrust and the yaw 'paddle' on the back of the throttle as forward and backward lateral thrust. I'm finding this a fantastic way to control my ship as I can 'nudge' my ship with the lateral thrusters just about any way I want when I need to make small adjustments. When docking, I fly down to the docking pad, pull the throttle stick back to zero and then use the lateral thrusters to make the landing, as I have up/down/left/right/forward/back.

I'm still working on what I want the buttons to be but using the hat and a modifier a lot. The L2/R2 buttons are great for that on the throttle. Really love the HOTAS and I am glad I went straight in with that; I've not even tried the DS4 and don't want to at this point.

The hotas 4 seems to only work correctly if it's plug in for a few minutes prior to starting the game the first time. After which you can plug in the ds4 and utilize the pad and or headset jack. I don't bother with it, I am just utilizing the hotas and it default setting for now. My hotas didn't work for the first 7 or minutes when first installed, but now it's no problem.
