10 min drive? to get to ship.

Just kidding, OP :)

Driving the SRV quickly for 2km can be a pain, especially on poor surfaces. And as Nerwan said... boost boost boost :)

To be fair regarding recall, somtimes the ship lands right on top of you. Sometimes it lands far away. And sometimes it lands inside the exclusion zone of that base you just ticked-off.

That sure is how I sometimes feel when skipping across a low-gravity ice ball :D

Sometimes it also lands on top of that canyon you need half an hour to climb out of.

Yeah, it's funny - the picture I chose could be used to illustrate the speed that OP is driving at, or the heart-wrenching fear that every CMDR feels when he pushes that thing up over 4km/h :D

Another thing you can do is to quit to desktop and launch the non Horizons version of the game and you will be back in your ship in orbit around the planet you were on when you log in.

I did that once when I landed on a horrendously bumpy world where I was unable to even get my ship to land. It would only hover about 100 ft in the air preventing me from boarding.

Pah 2km is a mere pimple on the face of the galaxy, be happy you didnt drive all the way across a planet like someone did recently that was epic.

sorry Cmdrs. stepped out of ship for a while. was exaggerating on the 10 min to get there. it was to emphasise that it could park its butt closer to me. ;)
no it wasn't that rough :)
though thanks to you all for the good giggle at your reply's[haha]

Once I recalled my ship while at the bottom of a very flat canyon bed, with very steep cliffs.

It landed at the top.

I have had it happen and I could not find away out it was that steep :( had to reload game as ED.

Yeah, I've had some impossible spots requiring a reload into standard non horizons game to get out. If the system is near a station the other option is to destroy the srv (whatever preferred method is available) and load back into the ship in orbit then get a new one.
