So for people who were not watching Lave radio twitch.

They decided to take an Ancient artifact from the Guardian site into the giant alien chamber and combine it with an unknown artifact and an unknown probe. The result was that the device seemed to get angry and when it was scanned it started damaging the srvs and also the scavengers attacked them

So basically Lave radio just started war............xD

Edit: In reply to Storm Valkyrie above.

I thought of that, too, but Merope 4 is a solid world with rings and it's depicted as a hollow dot on the map.
True. Though the theroy might still hold merit being as we have no indication of larval, pupal, and adult forms existance in game as cannonised fact (aside from groups within Cannon).

It would offer an alternate explanation to why ammonia giants are featured as set-pieces rather than terrestrial ammonia worlds solely.

Edit* Err... Adult forms that aren't the ships. That's a whole different theroy though that if true well...

I totally agree. The barnacle logo is deeply suspicious.

The spires bear a striking resemblance to those at this giant site but that doesn't mean they're the same.

It's a bit odd that the flower ships visit them, though. They don't scan them, they actively interact with them - almost like they know they're there and purposefully visit them specifically to do whatever it is they're doing. Perhaps they're just not that important to them, though; hence why they ignore players.

Braben a while back said something about one of the lifeforms being engineered from something else. I would be Ofans total lack of surprise if it transpired that barnacles are human devices engineered from alien stuff found at old sites (like the base which is clearly old) to produce meta alloys for us in anticipation of the coming goid threat.

Very spooky at the site now it's eclipsed by the gas giant.

Anyone else getting Transaction Server errors trying to transfer a UA and UP to the SRV?

The spires at the Alien Settlement are EXACTLY the same, Meta alloys pod on them included. ;)
Even the central part of the structure, has some similarity to a barnacle, but opened-like.

IMHO Barnacles are not directly thargoids, but they use them to REFUEL somehow (whatever anyone can say, the beam simply goes up, even SRVs inside its cone go up, so IMHO thei are harvesting). Perhaps they've simply "bult" or grown them, like we do with cows.
However I'm seeing a very deep link indeed, and the mark on them, always the same mark, remembers me about cows even more.

;)

I've seen that reported in the bug reports .... apparently you will have to drop them from the ship and then scoop them up in the SRV

Congrats!

I'm hoping to do the same in the next week. I have Martuuk's Soontills in tow (+ 13 more for a bit of profit), and 27 Unknown fragments. I have no modular components, though - and I'm under no illusion that getting them all in a single session is hopelessly optimistic.

maybe you mean 'modular terminals' i suppose.
well.. it's very annoying.. but i made it in less than 5 hours.
basically go in high tech systems around sirius and you will get them as rewards for missions. 4 of them for any mission you do.

anyway... now i have everything:

cargo resistant
UP
UA

i feel lucky i found immediately an UP near ammonia planet.
if i think that this morning i didn't have yet the sirius permit, it's almost incredible.
i made everything in less than 12 hours.. wow

what i should do now ?

Clip?

The Guardians became extint millions of years ago. This suggest the Guardians and the Thargoids met a long time ago... How old are the Thargoids? I'm shocked right now.

However this might happen with any item that isnt the link.....can someone test this before we say they dont like or have seen the guardians?

And no im not hating just quoted your message :p

Do Thargoids dream of animated barnicles? Do Thargoids dream? Did they once peer to the night sky in wonder as we did? Do they still?

Questions that need an answer I'd say.
