The galaxy map in the stellarium is not the milky way.

It looks like a SAb class galaxy to me...

Which is incidentally the galaxy type of Andromeda ^^

Was there not a news story a little while back about Sirius (or someone) launching extra galactic probes? Maybe they were looking for someone they knew was coming.

Found it:

Balones Gold Touch Systems has placed an open order for materials for use in a forthcoming project. A bulletin from the organisation confirms that pilots who deliver mined osmium, praseodymium and methanol monohydrate crystals to Tiedemann Dock in the Balones system will be generously rewarded.

A spokesperson for the organisation elaborated on the nature of the project:

"The purpose of this programme is to develop a number of advanced deep-space probes – ones that will reveal more about what lies beyond the borders of our galaxy."

"We at Balones Gold Touch Systems believe galactic civilisation is on the cusp of a paradigm shift. The alien shipwrecks and the Synuefe ruins leave no room for doubt: we are not alone in the universe."

"Knowledge is the currency of the future. Not money. Not weapons. Knowledge. And how best to acquire this knowledge? With the instruments that Balones Gold Touch Systems is developing."

The campaign begins on the 5th of January 3303 and will run for one week. If the final target is met earlier than planned, the campaign will end immediately.

Yup. This could do with being tested. This might be the result of anything it is not expecting being used, as opposed to a Guardian technology specific reaction.

... that was my first thought too.

Granted - it could act more like a vending machine and just reject whatever you put there, but it's infinitely more cool - and probably more defensive - to go nuclear and start toasting everything nearby.

mmm well I might resume some of my old Canonn duties. Part time. With a biscuit retainer.

Gonna get UP's, line them up inside the main structure and shoot them. Or something.

Sounds like a good plan! :D

We just had a Thargoid appear and scan one of the commanders outside the structure.

The map had been turned on a total of 4 times during the past 5 hours.

I personally had just gone on a killing spree and blown up 4 salvager drones from inside the structure when the event occurred (If that matters).

What I found was that each drone will drop 2 of the following materials:

- Unknown Wake Data
- Unknown Organic Circuitry
- Unknown Energy Cell
- Unknown Carapace
- Unknown Technology Components

In addition to these findings you can find a map of the structure in HIP 14909 A in the link below, along with some observations of the interior layout.

Yeah, that.

Also, all the stuff about the thargoids met in the past being a small scouting party. Maybe they came from further than we though.

Noooo.

We Didn't mean it....

Erm.

We'd like to take this opportunity to aplogise to the entire human race.

But in my defense; it was Ben's fault.

Jesus Christ on a motorcycle. Now I'm getting orders from Turner Research... "About your friend Dfire, we understand he suffered a catastrophic reactor failure and his ejector seat failed to operate. He may not be aware of that yet himself, but we have every confidance in your abilities Agent Aledon..." ;)

It very much looks like the central peak of the main structure has an opening in the top.

I wonder what else needs to happen apart from activating the device to open it?

i dont think its another galaxy, i think its our galaxy only showing 2 spirals of SOMETHING. I watched iso's stream and played it back a few times in slowmotion and when a scav elevated and flew through the hologram it revealed other /systems which where un visable as it passed through. im pretty sure its our galaxy

Possible. Plausible if the only stars/systems depicted are Ammonia worlds/habitable? Or known/explored? Or 'under surveillance'?? Those were my first thoughts seeing the activation video.

So.. it seems to me that the alien mega structures are old. Perhaps from the first war, and that the thargoids have only recently returned. The probes and artifacts are perhaps a bit like world war 2 relics they are being re introduced to having returned to this part of space for... whatever reason?

The barnicles are the new mega structures being built much in the same way the scavengers feed the eggs at the old sites. There not re fueling they are nourishing the structures.

The probes are signaling some important mesage left buy the thargoids from the first war. They set the machines running and left/died.

We, like the inquisitive little space monkeys we are, have stumbled across this. Now i think they found it first and knew just what to do, and got straight to work on building the new structures in the plan.

Or indeed the old structures are REALY OLD and the thargoids geneticaly engeneered the barnicles from them and was perhaps the reason for there presance in the first war. And since then have geneticaly engeneered them self to there current for and hence they resemble the mega structures.

Remember we could kill them hundreds of years ago but now.. we cant. Cus they have new barnicle technology hulls

Objects in witch space?

Hmm, for any viable research we're going to need bigger Corrosion Resistant Cargo Racks.
I know we didn't push the tiers on that one but even so, Palin has had long enough and he did steal all those Evac Shelters!

Hi,

I have maybe once posted on Canonn thread before this, but here we go.

So i went to the active site at HIP 14909 2 A with UA and UP.

And my first impression was WoW, as there was a lot of mist:

Next i flew over the site to take a look at the big "structures" and to me they look like ships or shipwrecks:

pq4kurd.png

And they have damage marks on them, similar to damage marks on human ships "destroyed" by these "flower ship".

qTKRfIG.png

And it looks like these flying things called scavengers are taking these apart

I spotted at least 4 of these huge ships or shipwrecks. All have similar damage marks on them and scavengers going around flying to walls and extracting something from these.

Then i thought there is other similar looking shapes. These look like same as the big "ships/shipwrecks" but are already mostly deconstructed or just are being build up.

Then i went inside the middle structure and did the activation thing, and then i catch something that i haven't seen anyone mention, those little scavenger things fly around and go/return to the alien eggs and drop something on them. Scavenger stop to hover over the "egg" on the floor and its body do animation, then there is some dust or something falling from the scavenger on top of the egg. Then the scavenger go fly around go to wall and cut/extract something from it and go to next/same "egg" and do same stuff again. They are taking care of the eggs.

So in conclusion what is my theory about the site.

1st theory: There is destroyed alien ships around that are being de assembled by the scavengers. Something shot these down at the site or brought them there from else were to be de assembled at the site. Some are almost fully de assembled some are "newer" catches. Then they are growing/building something under the ground and are using these "ships" as parts/resources/food.

If these big ship looking objects at the site are destroyed then we can draw conclusion that these were destroyed with same weaponry as those federation and human ship we can find in space. This could mean that the flower ships aren't attacking human ships, but are like humans/players investigating these sites of destroyed human ships and we just happen to see them leave the area after they have finished the scan. Maybe these big "ships" on surface are bigger "flower ships" that were destroyed by this other alien race. AS there has been at least one case of flower ship being spotted at the this new alien base/site it could be that they are also trying to solve why their ships are going missing and when they scan players they see us there and then after scan see that we aren't part of these sites etc. and they just ignore us and leave to go and report about it back to their HQ.

Or maybe the site was attacked by same weaponry that destroyed some human ships and capital ships. Or they attacked the site and lost/were destroyed and are now consumed by it.

2nd theory: These site are shipyards and those big ships i am talking about are being build, as the site has 8? "slots" and only 4 ships i would assume the other 4 would already be finished and are out there somewhere lurking and these 4 others are still under construction. The "eggs" inside could be the crew growing up. This doesn't explain the damage on the "ships", or they could be being repaired.

3th theory: What happened with the thargoid ships after the war? After the one in earlier games, were humans used biological weapons against them? I would assume they didn't just vanish. Maybe these sites are craveyards of the thargoid war. After the war Feds and imperials probably had a lot of death alien capital ships and ships lying around. So maybe they dumped them somewhere on mass graves? Like humans have done in every war in real history. This could be one reason why feds want to hide/get all data regarding these sites, usually factions don't like when people go around digging around mass graves.

Maybe those thargoid ships weren't all dead or all of the crew wasn't death, maybe some of the crew survived because they had mutation that was resistant to the biological agent/weapon used by humans. Or some of the "egg" survived on board the capital ships and later hatched. In the mass grave the survivors then started to build up. They are deconstructing old shipwrecks and building new ships/growing new thargoids.

What you guys think? Are my assumptions good/bad? Do you agree/disagree?
