Telepresence module for the SRV can now be bought in Outfitting! *Click bait*

...I made you look, I made you stare, I made you lose your underwear!...

But no, seriously. Could someone please sprinkle a little tele-dust on the SRV?

Does it make sense? Would it be hard to do (see: SLF)?

Don't make me wet myself. [where is it]

Teleprescence is a cop out !

Give us real presence, like we have in the SRV, ..... give us 'real' NPC crew, and for the SLF ! You know you can do it, FD [yesnod]

Ok, let me write this down... one smelly..., no... telepresence, did I write that correctly?... telepresence module... with extra d...u..st... for the SRV.

Oh wait, I think I have a better idea. How about we scrap the whole which is telepresence and implement something which makes sense in this sundae of a game universe. And if you want remote control on the SRV or SLF that's fine, we can have that with limited range and we can call it remote control, instead of the cringefest which is the word "telepresence".

Yes.

And if someone could explain the lore/logic to me here, that would be peachy. We have telepresence MultiCrew "modules" that enable us to join ships and pilot SLFs throughout the galaxy. But these modules can't be fitted to the SRV? Why is that?

Of course, the SRV gets than also a 30km radius instead of 2km before ship leaves, oh and you can't dismiss the ship anymore. If you want to have that canister 30,2 km away from the ship, you need to drive back, board ship, fly to this point and deploy tele-SRV again :D
We would need to get rid of life support again....etc

Seriously... never touch a running system

Telepresence through the galaxy, but fighter has a max out at 30km [wacko]
There are a lot of things that made telepresence more a mess than not explaining multicrew functionality at all. We know that but immersion crew need to be feeded

Its simple.

Frontier Developments screwed up. Rather than pay attention to their own world building, a couple of people during a livestream came up with an off the cuff "cool" explanation, and it stuck.

Given that this miraculous communications technology has not had any effect either economically or militarily on the rest of Human space, I feel it's safe to conclude that this technology doesn't actually exist, and that how instant multi-crew actually works is a mystery, like instant cargo loading and unloading, and each of us are free to explain it in a way that makes personal sense.

Personally, I'm going with the explanation that instant multi-crew works by surgically altering unregistered slaves to look like your friends. This is done to con the powers that be into paying out bounties to people who aren't really there. People who do this are horrible, horrible monsters, and you should all be ashamed of yourselves. Ashamed! ;)

And yes, OP, I do think SRV operation should be a part of multi-crew, and probably would've if Frontier hadn't decided to rush this feature out the door in an effort to cater to the instant gratification crowd.

Right.

So by popular majority vote we humbly request that you extend that magic pixie dust to the SRV. We believe in you, David. [yesnod]
