In the vid Nutter just posted, the Conda briefly looks inside the top thing (around 3:30). It seems to be closed by an 8-segment white hatch, with a tiny hole in the center. I doubt you could get thru that in an SRV. I guess the Unknown Device is right behind it.
Sadly, we can only examine the backside of the vessel (and I'm sure it is one) for now, as it lies on its face. I'd really like to see the cockpit, but that's buried underground.
One additional note on the "Thargons" cockpit: the cockpits (and I think that's the bulb in the center on the front side) were translucent in both the initial hyperdictions and the recent ones in the barnacle site "refuel" scenes. The one in the vid from yesterday (where the Thargon scans the SRV) seems to consist of milk glass instead, it's all white more or less, and that's something I noticed in some press pics depicting Thargoids too. It may not be important, but could be the "Thargon" ships are from several different origins or breed lines.
