I don't think you guys are wrong, to the point that I have been flying around that region for some time too, but I wonder if it's worth considering that its odd the UL seems to be transmitting to something inside the UA shell rather than outside of it according to these coords.
Got to pause my search for a bit, but another note about Mel 22 Sector ZU-P C5-1. The 4th planet is gas giant with ammonia based life, two landable moons - UA spawn rate still freaky high.
I know you guys have a strong basis to look around the merope end but what do you get crunching the numbers at the col 70 end? Does anything match that way?
Col 70 being mostly permit locked doesn't have cartography data. If the 27-34 Ly distance is measured to col 70 it makes it difficult to find the system by searching eddb/edsm material.
Also the numbers seem to match the Merope/HIP 14909/Col 70 stupidly well.
The real problem I feel is that we (I?) still don't know what we are looking for really. We seem to have 3 reference points, which we had kind of discovered already - and the measurements keep pointing to different systems.

Very likely. I have parked up in one as it's....3am I'll join in with the hunt tomorrow, i'm so tired right now if I found aliens I'd just crash into them asleep at the wheel lol.
Right 3:30. I'm parked up on one of the moons orbiting that amonia planet in the system mentioned earlier which I can't remember. I'll continue whatever I was trying to do tomorrow
To recap :
Asuming that the second system for the coordinates is the one at the origin of the unknown link ( HIP 14909 )
We have,
Set 1 : Mel 22 sector ZU-P C5-1
Set 2 : Mel 22 sector NX-U D2-31 this one don't match perfectly with the coordinates i've found but when you check the distance with merope Col and hip 14909 it's very very close
EDIT : Set 3 :in fact Mel 22 Sector NX-U d2-27 is closer than HIP 15668
FYI : I used Blender (an open source 3D software) to calculate the coordinates )
Sorry for bad english, i come from a planet where we talk an other language.
So we have lots of UA in the Mel 22 sector ZU-P C5-1
and Forth planet of Mel 22 Sector NX-U d2-27 is a gaz giant with life bas on amonia. I will try to fin UP there.

Could be more bases. Alternatively, the symbols that resemble flowerships in the upper spectrogram could imply a source of Thargons, like an active (flying) mothership reporting its distance to the three reference systems. But that's just my hopeful speculation.
If there ARE more active bases around, where additional messages can be obtained from Unknown Devices, then the second number from the UL response should change based on the new reference system, but the other two numbers should be static. That would be good evidence for the interpretation of the coordinates.
Edit: Ignoring the flowership symbols, the symmetry of the top and bottom targets in the sonogram makes it look like this could be how to locate another base given the starting position. You have the distance from the current base, and the distance to the two other reference systems. Since the messages that yield this data come from the Unknown Device after it displays what looks like a galaxy map, I think this is showing how all the bases can be found starting with a single known site. The Unknown Link links them all together!
Me and several other Xbox players are in system as well, assisting with the hunt. Happy to help you guys out on the great work your doing, will report any findings, obviously.

As always this thread is hard to keep up with, so apologies if I'm doubling up on something here...
In regards to the device's reaction to the Guardian tech, I threw together a quick video of an RGB graph, which isolates / amplifies the flashes a bit better. If it does turn out that there's some actual information encoded here, hopefully it helps:
What I really wanted to do was to get a single image of the flash intensity over time, but I couldn't work out how to do that in the time I have right now.
I also just jumped into a USS with several canisters of tantalum and several NPCs, one that acted like a fairly typical pirate and several others - missed the initial USS signal type unfortunately. Anyone else seen something similar?

Hey code, I actually see you on the second moon lol. Coming in on the first moon there always a signal source just above orbit. Went to drop in but hit the wrong button and missed out :/
