To the CMDR at HIP 14909 Thargoid base last night...

You came in hot in a Cutter, with a buddy flying a ship launched fighter. You two trounced a few ships parked outside the base while the CMDRs were inside the base.

Seeing this, myself and another CMDR who still had ships boarded our ships and launched in an effort to chase you off.

However, the other CMDR got out faster than I, and you killed him. Upon noticing his dropped UA & UP, I selfishly attempted to take them. And you attacked me, and pretty much mollywopped my butt.

To you sir, I say: GOOD GAME.

It was a rush, it was unexpected, and it was down right opportunistic. Cost me a 20 mill rebuy, but totally worth it.
Made me go home and get my Cutter for these expeditions, just to make sure I don't get jacked in my blind spot. Also, maybe put your ships in orbit if your running around an unknown, unprotected site.

Nice Work, CMDR. I'm sure I'll get my revenge on you soon enough! ����

Dear cmdr, always keep in mind that the good God in his infinite wisdom has limited human intelligence but did nothing to address his stupidity

Refreshing response, this is what makes open truly exhilarating compared to other modes.

Had my own hilarious/unfortunate encounter yesterday above the alien site. Had a friendly duel with a Cutter, just as the fight finished and he was shieldless at 41% hull, I was typing my congrats on a fun fight when a cheeky Asp swooped in and railgunned him to death!

Frontier? Please make it possible to use SRV's in multicrew as soon as it fits. I would like to continue my "open only" style and deploying my crewmates in the SRV's / Fighters during i take care of the ship myself (or maybe get out in SRV too) would be a great addition to this sort of gameplay :D

To OP:
I would rather suggest to use a cheap ship or even better a small ship that is hard to hit from higher attitude. This has saved me in a similar situation.
I was using an Adder with low emission powerplant and turned off all (on surface) unnecessary modules. If players have to aim manually with eyeballing a ship on the ground and get wonky through gravity, they choose you definitly at last which gives you enough time to run :D

I went to the alien site in Mobius but I still dismissed the ship to orbit when I wasn't flying it. It felt a little paranoid, but then a couple of hours later I read about the "incident"...

Nice story…!

I was expecting whining and stuff. :p

I jumped in to a system, very far from the alien base. And noticed a lone FDL CMDR in supercruise some 1000ls out.
I was in my PvE Anaconda. Tough, but by no means cut out for PvP.
I went to say my usual "o7" and noticed he had already done a 180° and was heading right for me.
A quick scan revealed he was not a friend. Full PvP build.

Needless to say, I waked out pretty quick. :p

Was just warming my hand up ready to type my signature response, then the post went allll the right ways. REP to you sir.

Honestly i wish more commanders had your attitude; you parked your ships outside in Open knowing the risk and worst case scenario occurred. Instead of coming here, crying about C&P and telling them what horrible human beings they are, followed by your own personal diagnosis of armchair psychology as to why they do such things; you took the opportunity to settle the score, IN game and create a more fun gaming experience for all parties including yourself.

This ^^ is how PVP should be discussed on the forum. I salute you o7.

Please feel free to add me as a friend in-game and come into open and hunt me down sometime...thats the best part about playing in Open, you never know what could happen and when :)

Getting shot up at one of the prime Hotspots of the entire Galaxy - and in Anarchy Space - is pretty much guaranteed. Only a question of time and luck.
And it happend to dozens (hundreds?) of CMDRs before. And it happened at the Ancient Ruins before. And at Barnacles before that. And it'll happen again - guaranteed - at whatever the next hotspot will be.

Really don't know what you guys expected down there (??)

Wait, so was this in PG or Open? You mention both here. I thought that sort of thing wasn't allowed in Mobius. I always play in Open so it doesn't affect me, but I just wondered.

By the way, there seems to be an inordinate amount of praise heaped on the OP for having the "right attitude" here. One would think that there were threads everyday from people complaining about being attacked in Open, but I rarely see them.
