Who is replacing Michael Brookes?

Adam Woods is my take, considering he has been active again with ED streams.

Considering Eddie was specific producer for Horizons, I expect someone standing in for executive producer role, while specific extensions and releases will still have fellow managers/producers.

Simples. Who, when, and will that person return to doing the wonderful Dev updates?

IndigoWyrd, Zarek Null, Viktore Beskore and that new guy CMDR FartSlayer are shortlisted for the job.
We're in safe hands.

I put a job app in, but Brett C blackballed me with HR.
I also nominated Bran Tse Mallory, but he's too close to retirement.

First question to ask:

For those unfamiliar with the role, what exactly are the responsibilities of an Executive Producer?

An Executive Producer is someone who is responsible for the project as a whole. As well as planning they act as a conduit between the different disciplines. Traditionally they are the go-between for the developer and the publisher, in Elite's case it's also about keeping an eye on fan feedback. I also work closely with David to ensure that we're hitting what he wants.

Part of a producer's job is to be on top of everything. I'm always reviewing and contributing to design as a lot of it is also part of the fiction. The same goes for art, programming and audio. I don't contribute directly to those disciplines, but I am involved in the process.

Can you read it? Copy/Pastes don't always work. It is from https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...e-Team-3-Michael-Brookes-(Executive-Producer)

Should FD pull someone in from outside, or from within? Hard decision to make, I should imagine, because Elite Dangerous is different from most other games and it is running with a large number of placeholders, as well as bolt-ons that aren't working as originally intended.

I would say the one most important qualification for Executive Producer is that he/she is an avid player of the game, and also (ok two qualifications) has a clear idea of where it should be heading.

David Braben: Adam we think you should be the next executive producer of elite dangerous it is a hard job but you can do it
Adam Wood: Can i get more money ?
David Braben: No !
Adam Woods: Ok, i take the job !

Ah, thanks for the info. Good to know he's staying with Frontier albeit moving on to their next game. I hope he leaves a note about the beige planets before he moves offices. He seemed to be the only dev that knew about the beigification.

Lets hope its someone with a different approach on things. Someone not afraid of standing up to DB and pushing things into new directions. Time to make some non "artistic" splashes in gameplay and some unique design decisions.
And the new executive producer for ED will be...... *drum roll* ...... Harry Potter! ;)
