Starting out

Ok, so I got it on the PC now. I decided to keep my Xbox account alive and start afresh.

The little sidey is ok but mama, mouse and keyboard...I have to keep checking the keys to figure which does what, the mouse thing is so stupidly sensitive it creeps and rolls the whole time..I tried a thrustmaster USB joystick but that creeps all the time too.

I still haven't crashed, mind. :)

Anyone got any tips ? for setups etc? I cant seem to find anything via search, think my brain is fried.

I would advise you to switch ship roll to A and D on the keyboard and change Yaw to mouse control. Why is not set like that by default I have no idea.

Center your joystick. Even if it's auto centering insure that it is as I had an old Microsoft stick that did not center and everything I didn't even use the stick on use to travel. When I finally figured it out I no longer had a problem.

You can plug your XBox controller into your PC and have the same thing you are already used to. Either use a USB cable or you can buy a wireless adapter for the PC.

It was the first binding I changed all that time ago just before unbinding "jettison all cargo".

I would also advise you to add a specific supercruise binding like ctrl + j as being able to low wake on demand can be useful when leaving planet surfaces and stations if your hyperspace destination is obscured by a planet.

EDIT: Yeah advising you to use your XBOX controller didn't occur to me. D'oh!

I use my wired 360 controller only for driving my SRV as it's just easier with joysticks and triggers for me.
I can't seem to get used to the controller when flying ships though so I just stick to M+K most of the time.
