Nope. There called Large Wreck Sites in game (when you go to sell unknown links and the like) kinda like the barnacle fiasco. They were named barnacles before we gave them a name
Im not even sure you need to "encode" the ul. i think you only need the Messages and any old UL
Yes, thats what I thought too. Among other things, I tried to estimate the height of the tunnel entrance yesterday (using the distance indicator on the free cam on the SRV, however precise that may be) and came up with a height of about 15+m for the tunnel entrance alone. The centerpiece is over 200m high, couldn't measure the diameter of the whole area for I was in solo and the sensor range was way too short, but it's well over 1.5km I'd say. In a wing, both ships could be positioned on opposite sides, possibly using an SLF with fixed beams as a makeshift laser pointer and then using the ship sensors to determine the distance.

Whichever way, you need to at least have a UL and use the machine to get the messages.
You mean - like using that terminology in game for the Unknown Link description? Asking for a friend

Point 3: You don't need to combine the UA and UP in order to get the UL, in fact you don't personally need either of them, but at least one person needs just a UA to open the doors to the site.

It literally says it in the descriptions. How much more specific do you want FD to make it?
Then they need to rename the POI from Alien Scan Site to Alien Wreck Site, until then i will show no quarter!

I've never been able to get a UL without both a UA & UP in my SRV cargo hold.
Confirming. I am there right now.
A little part of me also wonders... we've seen that these salvagers are sucking bits out of the thargoid ships, and there's lots of them, and they leave the corroded surface.
Cast your mind back to the wrecked federal fleet. What if these scavengers are essentially "drones" launched from the mothership, and they essentially "swarmed" the capital ships and escorts? I'm certain they wouldn't have the targetting resolution in their weapons to hit things that small!

I picked one up yesterday. I dropped into the Canonn PG as I had given up my UA and UP the previous evening, the doors were open and so I drove into the UL room and got one then.
Were they already on the floor because others had constructed them or did they actually come out of the machine for you?
...and then they didn't haul them away for the material, because they're made of icky metal.
