It's Motherships... rather than thargoid bases.

Just saying...

Based on a few hours reconnaissance in VR, (it's spectacular how different the "bases" look in 3D).

I'm pretty sure the new Thargoid mega structures are in fact motherships.

It becomes clearer when you visit the most recently found one today which is most complete.

Having landed an Anaconda in the central region to get scale, the ships would appear to be in the region of 10km in diameter.

Then maybe the "map" is a location of all the other motherships... which is a lot of motherships.

Are you sure? They could be Fatherships, or even Somethingelserships. We only barely know they're biological. How can we make any assumptions on their anatomical natures.
Next thing you know, someone will claim they're also followers of Xenu.

Can you please give us the System and coordinates?

And does it too do the disco inside?

Let's not get bogged down in the terminology. ;)

You know... real life.

So... should FD hire people to play the game as Thargoids, that way every Thargoid encounter is fresh and new?

(As an aside, it would be funny to see Thargoids camping outside of stations, waiting to gank people).

Scripted as opposed to...
Yeah, we even interact this time, and can cause different outcomes. Everything in games is technically scripted, anyway. Even fighting them will be. Idk why people keep throwing this buzzword around like it actually means there's another way to code. I'm sure the end product will have more dynamic scripting to handle the Thargoid return.

Back on topic: I agree OP. These look like wreckage sites more than anything. Assuming their general 10km diameter is accurate, we have motherships on our hands. So far, it looks like the Thargoids try to scavenge any wrecks they leave behind to avoid wasting too much. This could suggest they don't want to deplete the galaxy of raw materials too fast, or they have environmental concerns like we do. Either way, the destruction of their ships will just be a minor setback if they are allowed to scavenge.

There is 4 big capital ships and remains of other 4. that have similar damage marks compared to those human ships that are found destroyed by aliens. Something destroyed them there and is now consuming them (scavengers are taking them apart), or they were destroyed somewhere else and were brought there to be disassembled.

Or those sites are graveyards were Feds and Empire Buried the dead thargoid ships after the Big war. Those Thargoid fleets didn't just vanish and something needed to be done to them. So they towed them on some locations. Maybe they weren't completely death.
