Thargoids are back because someone screwed up?

While at the alien site some cmdrs were talking and said the reason why the Thargoids are back is because someone screwed up. Also there was something about the formidine rift being involved.
Has anyone else heard this? If so I'd like to know more about this theory.

Guardians woke them up i hear. ;)

FD stated in an interview that the Thargoids have returned because we've "screwed up" big time, or something to that effect.

Yes, we didn't finish them off the first time around, thats how we screwed up, now they been sitting quietly making all our weapons obsolete, meaning yet more grind and expense to fight them. (not so great idea FD)

It's because the head of the first contact team couldn't get the five notes right when it was his turn to play.

That's what you get for asking scientists to do the job of musicians[noob]

It was EDGAR'S fault!!! Yeah, Edgar did it. He snuck into COL 70 sector, landed on a planet, stepped on an egg and squished it with his space legs!! All his fault.

From a real world view, I find the whole idea that we could have avoided the bugs return laughable.

From an RP perspective, it's nearly as laughable as the attitudes of these Quisling types who want to make peace with them.

I say we nuke 'em, then do it again just to be sure.

Humans "screwed up" I believe is reference regarding the colony arks (q.v. Formisdine Rift etc.)That those colony ships appaenlytly (according to the data logs from some) seemed to have met with failure and encountered "unknowns" which resulted in the deaths of all onboard - presumably they had acted inappropriately and incited the "unknowns" or alereted the guardians...
