Newbies! Community Goals to make some quick CRs!

There are 5 Community Goals this week! If you're not familiar with CG's, head to these two resources:

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/forumdisplay.php/176-Community-Goal-Discussions

and

https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteCG/

3 of the BH'ing CG's are in the starter systems. You get to earn bounty hunting bounties to make CRs, but you also gain credit for the CG as well. The more you turn in, the higher your standing is, and the greater the payout is at the end of the CG in a week!

Though, as you'll learn, as with any system in the spotlight, be careful in open for murder-hobos!

Is an A'ish or B'ish Cobra MkIII sufficient for the BH CG's, or is worth pouring 1 or 2 million into either of the Vipers?

Should be ok, just watch your fire and don't take on anyone until the security forces have engaged them and stripped their shield

Easily! Just follow around the security in a high-res and steal their kills. Just make sure to fullly scan the pirate first, and watch errant shots so as not to hit the cops... they don't like that.

Thanks friend. I'm gonna push my Type 6 to the limit

A T6 may not be the best ship to take. If you've got the cash, you could buy a stock viper and just slightly upgrade the weapons.

I wish that there was crossplay so that I could wing up with some of you fine people and give you a hand in a hazres, but it's unfortunately not a thing at the moment.

I'm in Asellus Primus now but I can't find the place to go and do this?

Asellus 3, should be a few sites, if you're not too confident then go in the high ones and just steal kill, make sure you scan a ship before attacking to make sure it's wanted.

Cool. So far I've only made one quick visit to a low-res site when I was still flying an Eagle. I stole a couple of quick kills but then there was a lull in the fighting. After flying for a bit I spotted a wanted anaconda just loitering in the distance doing nothing. I waited a few minutes for the cops to show but they weren't around. I thought, "I probably shouldn't do this", but then I gave him a tap on the shields to get his attention. He turned his guns on me and, "Oh Christ. Here we go". I boosted behind him quickly, put an asteroid between us and then spent the next 30 seconds jetting around avoiding his line of fire. I was about to give up, divert power to engines and get out of there when the cops finally showed up and started laying into him. When his hull was around 25% I moved in close and stole the kill.

Very cheeky and probably lucky I didn't die, but I was quietly happy with myself for taking down an anaconda while still flying a poorly equipped eagle.

Perfect play. So long as the cops are about and not engaged elsewhere you can start a fight and they will almost always come to help you out. Hiding from the fire in your faster ship was exactly the right thing to do.

The mission board will always tell you the System, and station. If it's a Bounty Hunting CG, then go to the System map and look for ringed planets, these almost always have Resource Extraction Sites (RES), which you can drop into (same blue bars as dropping from SC into a station).
Shoot some WANTED pirates, then return to the station listed. You should double check you've signed up first.

Repeat as often as you like (i'd aim for the top 75%). Wait a week for the CG to finish, and return to the CG station to collect your rewards.

Note: the bounties must be redeemed at the specific station named, not just any in that system.

If you have the time, I highly suggest participating in as many as you can. Even a low amount is enough to trigger participation. Then you'll pick up at least the amount for the lowest tier. As of a few hours ago, some were at 100k and others a bit higher just for doing *something* in it. This week, you may be better to spread it around and pull in cash from each of them. At least, that's my plan.

Community Goals are also good for players who dont have alot of play time to muster together. You're sure to find something ongoing every thursday/friday/saturday and its a nice payout. Some CGs go on a bit longer but most get completed within a few days.

So I've got an A Cobra MkIII. As far as the weapons loadout is concerned Ive got the two small 2F pulse lasers, and while I've been exploring and doing delivery runs, in the medium hardpoints I've been using two 2B seeker missiles. The missiles deal with the occasional npc interdictions very quickly. About 70% of the time the fight is over half a second after I get their shields down and since I'm stopping at stations frequently, running out of ammo has never been a problem. But if join the CG and I'm going to be spending extended periods of time bounty hunting in res zones, is it wiser to swap out both missile launchers for multi-cannons, or use 1 missile launcher and 1 multi-cannon?
