Alien archeology and other mysteries: Thread 10 - The Canonn

I would like to offer the following observation:
Just over the Barnacle at Merope, next to Alcazar's, the FNS Boxer sits in its task of guarding the Barnacle.
Since the 2.3.1 patch, this ship has been pointing at seemingly random spots in the sky and down, at the planet.. (sometimes clipping thru a bit).
I have a little video, but haven't seen the need to upload it, as of yet,

That's fine. Sure looks like a new sort of behavior that hints at a direction.

Today, I just saw a vid of the UL being activated to point the 'beam of light'.
The mechanic of this sure did remind me of the FNS Boxer.

That's my post. Chew chew..

I was at Palin's the other day (after the patch) and I noticed that the fed corvette over his compound was repeatedly dropping its nose toward the ground as though it were nodding off. Looked very janky.

Can confirm, there now.

uh oh..

This seems to be yet more complete than previous ones ? 6 arms this time.

Ruh rohhhh

Nice one! :)

(I could barely make out the detail on my screen, so I had a quick and dirty play with the with levels. Here it is in case helpful to anyone...)

Well, we like to keep the place warm and cosy, you know - thread #10 and all that :)

Welcome back!

Thanks.

I've been reading the thread (from the shadowy lurk mode of being a guest) for the last two days, wondering at my incredibly bad timing to be away from my PC this week..

Anytime you need something to do in-game I'll just book another holiday.... you're welcome :D

The last to find will be perfectly functional... :D
Following the breadcrumbs...

This is what concerns me. If this is the mycoid... maybe they are all crashed vessels on the way to trying to reach us. The closer they are to Maia, the more damaged they are (like the four completely inoperable ones). The further out we go, the less damaged they are, but other ships can feed off the previous, until a fully operational one hits.

/offtopic, kind of/

Looking now at the thargoid starmap, brings to mind Halsy's abduction experience:

https://community.elitedangerous.com/en/galnet/uid/57023a099657baf74c71f6e8

"It was wonderful. Amazing. I saw the universe, and our galaxy within it, as I'd never seen it before, and I felt the presence of the real caretakers of our galaxy. The paradox of their existence – tiny yet gargantuan, fleeting yet eternal. They spoke to me as I drifted in the void. It was amazing. I must share their message."

Would that be spiralled as in: "crashed", or as in: "burrowed down and went into maintenance mode"? :7

Considering the fact that some ships are complete wrecks and others are not, I would assume kind of an unplanned landing. Yes, a crash indeed.

Btw I'm fairly convinced that the "Aliens"-style leathery "eggs" on top of the navigation room contain the actual Thargoids. Too bad we can't get one and bring it to Palin.

So, assuming they are Thargoid motherships wrecked by the Mycoid Virus, they are still trying to (auto?) repair themselves, and sending probes, signals, and more, to be found by their "parents" ;)

REMEMBER?
WHAT WE FOUGHT IN THE FIRST WAR WAS JUST A THARGOID SCOUTING PARTY, WE ARE LOOKING AT THEM NOW.
Imagine what will come to rescue them. And DB said THEY are very angry with the Federation... I may guess the reason why...

Having just got my Federation Rear Admiral flag last week, how do I resign my commission??
