Supercruise exiting DS4

Silly question, i use supercruise then i need to slow down and exit,
i slow down the throttle, to exit i have to double a button, but it does not tell me which one,
I assume it is triangle double tap to exit?
FSD and supercruise are same things ?

Don't double tap Triangle as it will take you out of it unsafely and cause hull damage to your ship. Keep your throttle in the blue zone and wait until it says you can safely drop out of it. Then just tap Triangle once and it should drop you out right in front of the station.

Under < 999km/h you can tap just one time, its safe stop. But use the blue zone to reach your target

I've seen a lot of helpful hints that state one ust utilize the d pad then the x ,y, o or square. Does it rally matter which I do first, does that combo work on a hotas, hat first then button?

You need to press the face button before the dpad direction.

Does that apply to the hotas HAT also, if so, that's been my problem, I generally deliberatly use the buttons first then the hat, where as your stating it's the hat before the buttons, correct?

Don't use HOTAS on PS4 myself but you should just need tap triangle or whatever button it's mapped to to drop out of SC once you get the message saying it's safe to do so.

The d pad is only used with triangle for opening up the system or galaxy map, it's also mapped for jump & sc but that's context sensitive anyway so you can just tap triangle, if you've got a system targeted it'll jump, anything else it'll go into SC and you just tap to drop out of SC when it's safe, you can double tap in an emergency as well, the only time you'll probably have to hold it and use the d pad is if you want to jump to a system that's obstructed by a planet/star, then you'd have to hold and press the d pad to go into SC first, clear the planet so the system target is clear and not dotted then tap to jump.

Each button has it's own function if you tap it, it also has a up to 6 further functions if you hold the button then press whatever is mapped to the 4 d pad (presume hat switch for HOTAS?) and L1 & R1
