I checked this already 3 times. UA UP UL did not die while on ruins site. But on others planets they are dying..

There has to be a reason for that.. Think about it as a game designer. If UA UP UL have no use on ruins site, why whould anyone make them inkillable in 2.3.1 update? Think about it.

I mentioned this a while back too but my UL showed no sign of degradation when dropped next to a barnacle. It was lay there for around 2 hours with me staring blankly at it waiting for it to do something It was literally touching the barnacle structure itself. I forgot to check the other items I had.

I thought the reason for it was gameplay so as to not have all our artifacts pop while we solved the puzzle but then seeing it not die at a barnacle made me consider it is related to the degradation lore wise.

2 questions

1 does every wreck site have an Amomia world in the same system?
2 Are up's spawning at these planets.

Reason why i ask is i wanna get back in the game but a UP hunt is ahead of me again and i really don't wanna go round and round a planet for 4 hours again with no result.
So looking for somewhere with a more acceptable spawn rate.

I manage to find a UP within an hour every time I go looking, try different speeds and different distances. I personally point away from the planet till i hit 20Mm then turn around and shoot past the Planet's orbit line putting me close to 9Mm then slowly fly away again, that lets me traverse multiple distances and speeds.

We're all going to die.

Hey, thats our line! muahahahahaha!

If I recall correctly they degrade if you jettison from your ship but not if you jettison from srv. Land on planet jettison from ship it'll degrade same as space, pick up and drop in srv it'll be back to not degrading.

When I was poking around the ruins I was getting a transfer error on the UP, so I jettisoned both from my ship and picked them up with the SRV, I noticed no signs of degredation. I think nothing degrades on the planet.

So if someone transported 10000 tons of biowaste and filled the ruins with them, you would feel more at home! Bahahahahaha You monkeys will never unlock our Thargoidian Secrets!

Hello all! I made a tool that will help you find new sites! I've posted it here https://www.dropbox.com/s/52b2j17hkutmzga/triangulator.zip?dl=0
You give it a transcription of the Unknown Link message and the name of the system you got the Unknown Device message from, and it will tell you the names of the systems you should visit next! Sadly it can't go directly from audio to numbers, you still have to write down the sequence of high and low tones, and division tones. I've included a readme file with instructions. Let me know if you have any questions!

Indeed! My understanding was as I posted earlier: anything released from our ships (regardless of whether you're on a planet or not) will degrade because FD wanted to prevent cargo-bombing of stations or other areas of space.

This is less of an issue on planet surfaces, so cargo released from SRVs doesn't degrade. Also, it would prevent people trying to ship lots of cargo into their ship (forced to do so 2-at-a-time) by stacking it all close by after recalling and then doing much shorter trips to and from their pile of booty.

So, please, can anyone else reconfirm that their UAs/UPs and ULs do not degrade when dropped from their SRVs, please - regardless of where you drop them?

It's an old story, and, unless FD changed it, UA & UP never degrade when dropped from SRV.
I cannot check if it still true, but it seems to me that it is.

Now that we have 19 or so can we get a screenshot of all of them having been bookmarked in the Galaxy Map. Maybe we can see if there is a pattern.

Been a while since I really took a close look but in the past when they were jettisoned onto the planet from the ship they would decay, picking up and dropping again in the SRV would put it back to 100% with no decay. I think its just when jettisoned from the SRV they aren't tagged to decay. Maybe bug maybe by design but when i was doing it months ago it depended on what you jettisoned it from.

Some where in FDev Towers (where the external cladding insulation is made from solid salt crystals) there is an producer biting his nails, reading this Threadnought and thinking, "oh no. at this rate that will be on site 836 a week before they should, demanding to get pwned by Thargoid motherships! Im going to get sacked!. Its the end of the world as i know it!"

Carry on Canonn!

Really doubt it. I examined galaxy map in many different angles with 15 based bookmarked and it didnt look like there would be any kind of pattern.
But then again, im dont have Canonn brain. :D

there's a canonn map linked on frontpage * tho it is a few sites behind.

It's the Mycoid Virus. I am subscribing to the current theory that the scavengers are trying remove the infection or the infected area. Also some of the logs mention M. A point I think we have overlooked, someone knew about these sites, someone was watching them. The INRA is still around and working behind the scenes, I am certain they are perhaps the shadow organization behind all this cover up. We need to find them and strike at the heart!

Even if they are ammonia based life they can still use our resources. we have fuels, water, oxygen, and metals. We even have lots of biological life which could be consumed for sustenance. Humans are tasty!

Observations.... reading this page 310 as I try to catch up....

Watching the scavengers work, they only use their 'beam' on the green goo/fungal-damaged areas. They only deposit the dust/silt etc. on particular areas. I watched several last night for awhile and the beam was used on an exterior arm like feature that looked like a healing scab. The deposit then made a few meters away on a pinkish-red to greenish-blue skin area. Notice the luminescence of the secondary area with your ship lights OFF.

These are living bio-mechanical entities. Why not that they are healing themselves, regrowing their parts while the scavengers do the hardest work of cleaning up the infection??? The various states of regen show this, I think. I propose that once the entity is at a level of X healing, they are upgraded from "Guarded" to "Stable but Serious" condition on to "Stable" etc. The more healthy they are, the more they can regenerate themselves.

ALSO: why are there barnacle spires with MA's on them at these sites but NOT barnacles themselves? Could it be... crazy idea.... these are MATURED/ing barnacles? The spires at these sites are the same in scale as the barnacles... I'd expect them to be huge... but what if they're merely little appendages like skin pores or something that extrude the MA's? WHY are they here, if there are no barnacles?? To me, this links both, without question.

Thoughts??

And, I want to go back to CMDR Dreamstate's well documented thread where he postulates the destruction of Guardian homeworlds by planetary destruction, ala BSG. He notes the number of "Sulfer Atmosphere" worlds. What if this is in part, true? That a race of beings used a sulfuric-based weaponry to destroy worlds? Would it be feasible that the same race could/would develop sulfuric acid-based weapons that could be combined in some bio-genic way to do damage to the Fed fleet we found earlier? The 'goo', corrosion, etc.? Wouldn't a concentrated or modified sulfuric-based weapon have that potential on metal? MA's could be resistant to that acid mixture and therefore, a commodity for the Fed's to control and use to refit their fleet???

Two more off the wall items:

- the 'thing' in the center of the map room... is a Thargoid. Statue/solid, or in hibernation... look at it in upside-down camera mode...

and whacky prediction:

- we'll find "wreck" #2x on Luna

Once we get a large enough sample, it'd be interesting to see if we can predict the next locations using Ziphs Law.

Well actually. Im using a similar formula right now. the 150ly from maia within 500ly from sol, etc. Im currently in Synuefe OV-K D9-57 and on the Second set of planets im finding lots of Anomaly threat 4's floating about, maybe a thingy in this system too. i guess il need to start searching.
