An open letter to Professor Palin - Larger CRCRs. I beg of you!

Dear Professor Palin,

Please, for the love of god and all of humanity, please create some larger corrosion resistant cargo racks. I swear that I will give you any amount of materials, money, meta-alloys, sweat and blood that that is within my ability, and I'm betting many other commanders would as well, in order to get a CRCR that carries more than two tonnes. I implore you, work with your sponsors and put out a community request to gather the materials necessary to make larger CRCRs. I am certain that you will not be disappointed in the outpouring of support. The galactic community was foolish not to support you with more vigor from the beginning, and we have learned our lesson.

More and more alien sites are being discovered by the hour. Clearly the thargoids have pervaded our galaxy in a scope never believed possible. This alone should demonstrate humanity's pressing need to gather as much information, scientific research materials, and resources as is possible. However, so long as humans are limited to two ton cargo racks, our ability to research and understand these new events will be handicapped.

You alone Professor, have the ability to bestow us with the tools we need to succeed. Please do not let us fail!

I agree corrosion resistant racks should be sold at all stations that sell standard racks. Just give them a slight price increase.

Larger Corrosive Resistant Cargo Racks are required ASAP. All the items from the Alien Structures items being collected are corrosive and we will need them for the new Thargoid based tech.

They could even add in highly corrosive cargo types to haul, also missions to go with it. You could make a specialist trade vessel if youd like.

How many Unknown devices do you people feel you really need? I have two CRCRs fitted to my Anaconda, letting me hold one of each device, plus an extra slot (which my UA mysteriously duplicated into). That's really all you need. Any more and you'd just be making it easier for gankers to UA-bomb stations.

I'd rather Palin focus his efforts on a corrosion-resistant SRV.

Yes, bigger racks would be great. Rep++

It would be even better if I didn't have to grind to get a system permit and a Palin invite, just to get a corrosion resistant cargo rack. I don't want any of the engineering, just the rack. [mad]

One larger rack would be fine; I just don't want to waste 2 cargo slots.

That's also a good idea. Rep++

It's only 5000 LY. Just pick a pretty nebula and go out in a 42 LY AspX and you'll be done in a day. What system permit!? It's Maia, dude.

Nothing compared to mining 500 tons of crap for Selene Jeanne, plus the Painite at the end. That was about 3 weeks of pure unfiltered hell.

Not strictly true is it? Before flying 5,000 LYs becomes relevant you have to collect 25 modular termninals for Marco 'The Gatekeeper' aka 'Mr Useless' Quent and befoe you do that you need a Sirius permit and before you can get that you have to get friendly with Sirius Corp. For all that you get access to the engineer whose mods are likely worthless to you anyway by the time you unlock him, thereby ensuring that his primary purpose in the game is to bore your face off prior to unlocking Palin.

Didn't take me but a couple days to get into Sirius. As for the cargo requirement, I throw out about 40 Modular Terminals a day at Quince, but I didn't know about it at the time. Still found them pretty quickly, though. I got many doing missions to get the permit. Easy-peasy.

Quent is convenient for me because my biggest ships only need a grade 2 or 3 overcharged powerplant, and Kuwemaki is too damn far away.

The problem here is I don't think enough people realise the depth of their actions in this game. Consequences from the choices we make.
We have 2 racks because ppl didn't want to travel 300 lys to Maia for the CG to make them.
Everyone is out here now looking for bigger racks.
All of the Alien items and sites people FOUND by ridiculously obsessing through the hard work and impressive brain power lol

It's a space SIM nothing is certain simple and close.
And yes the Palin grind. ... we all did it, no sympathy lol
I actually loved that it took me out of my usual game play and forced me to try new things.

Ppl want everything now. I'm still ecstatic we have bookmarks. ....... BOOKMARKS!!! Lol

SO in additional to the Unknown Artifacts Unknown Probes and Unknown Link we have the following new items that are corrosive.
- Unknown Biological Matter
- Unknown Resin
- Unknown Technology Samples.

These new items with the new data scans plus UPs, UAs and ULs will most likely be required when making Thargoid specific items.

The options we have currently is to use multiple 2 ton resistant cargo racks wasting a lot of module space in larger ships.

Or use normal cargo and have AFMU going to keep things being repaired constantly. How about we put 2 Ton CRCRs in to larger normal cargo racks for stacking?

With larger CRCRs then stations could have them so they can collect and isolate any UA bombing attempts.

I got the Sirius permit about two months after I started playing (or over a year before engineers even existed) same as travelling 5,000 LY from my start point, mining over 500 tons of ore etc, etc.

Thing is, I wasn't thinking about myself. Give it a go sometime mate, it's fun.

I'm just saying it isn't as difficult as so many claim it to be. There are much harder ladders to climb.

I support this request.

I support this request too, somehwat.

But...
- Resistant racks could cost double. I think that is fair.
- Perhaps they are not available everywhere, but only at a selection of engineers.
