How could anyone dislike 2.3, when...

I know, it's great. (When the servers aren't throwing a hissy fit.. lol)

I used to measure time to my destination in 1 minute per jump. So 15 jumps, 15 minutes, not including docking, and supercruise.

But these days, it's closer to 30 seconds per jump. 15 jumps, about 8 minutes. Massive improvement. :)

Although, the days of running to make my coffee in stages at the beginning of each jump are gone. :p

I fuelscoop while making coffee so that way both the ship and its pilot get refuelled at the same time :D [set your course at a tangent to the star and at part throttle so you will slowly leave the star hopefully before getting cooked]

The game itself is also SO much better optimised than it used to be (we can probably thank the PS4 & XBox for that). e.g. On my mid-range gfx card it no-longer becomes unresponsive when opening the station menu for the first time (while it generates the faces of all the NPCs), and the faces themselves are generated much faster (or else a cached). Other graphical transitions seem quicker & smoother too, e.g. entering/leaving the buggy (sorry SRV), switching to galaxy/system map, zooming into a planet's surface in the system map, approaching one of the large classic space stations(!), driving across planet surface (with high detail), etc.

Just a shame that 2.3 is too bugged for me to enjoy Elite Dangerous for the things I want to do :-/

CIFs and biotechs are gone again. This is why people dislike it. Too many bugs, too many flaws, too many balance and design issues. Let alone Sidewinders doing scan missions and ending up in mostly harmless Anacondas.

Yes, I used to watch multiple turns of the spinning ship, but it's about 1 or 1.5 now.

The loading of mission boards, station services, etc. is a lot crisper, too.

...when all load times are so incredibly short? Nobody seems to acknowledge this but this really improved my Elite Dangerous experience more than anything else.

One of the best things to come out of 2.3 IMHO... :)

And while it may not have been universally acknowledged, there have been a number of threads about it, including this one from the original beta. ;)

Load times are close to perfect now. They're still a bit jarring because they are still there, and it kinda irks me that FD is likely considering the current state as good enough...

...but oh absolutely, this is really appreciated and I'm super happy about this improvement in 2.3 and I noticed it right away back then.

Because 2.3. brought nothing.

holo me - ok but zero gameplay added (sorry playing with dolls and makeup isnt gameplay)
multicrew - nobody asked for it and nobody uses it just like CQC or powerplay - everything is done easier and more profitable in own ship
bugs galore - fixing bugs and slowdowns caused by earlier patch should not be praised

2.2. was a year ago, and Ive been waiting for anything new worthwhile from december, sorry my hype is dead

I picked 3 CIFS (i.e one lot of scan data) up from scanning a base - planetary scan mission yesterday. Is it possible they have changed the way we get them instead? Rather than they have gone completely?
Oh and not told us :)

Good point - drops out of supercruise seem smoother now - if they could just let us retain control of the ship and not blink the hud I wouldn't even know.

There is a bug with mission rewards. Acknowledged by FD, fix is on the way.

You mean the fact that now we don't have to wait 40-60 seconds to open the main menu or up to 2 minutes to load the mission board? Or wait at infinitum when jumping and realizing the game got stuck in witch space? Yeah, that's very commendable, thanks frontier for such incredible feature. Now Elite is on line with every other game of the last 20 years.

Now the loading times in general are much better but the transitions from SC to normal flight still need to be smoother.
