Sherrington Orbital

Needs to give a lot more money for me to deliver something there. Just saying, it was a good adventure there but the payout sucked.

My problem is that the game is actually good if you do the missions, it's fun I had countless adventures, but it's not scaling properly with what you need to do vs how much time you need to do it in.

LoL... It never has done...

Never take a mission to Dea Motrona then. It's "only" 1.5 million light seconds from entry to a station, but it's still a long way.

And the payout is the same?

The payout is whatever the mission board told you it was going to be before you accepted the mission.

I'll tell you how I get around this, not that I'd consider 250k that long but I wouldn't be in any hurry to run a mission that far unless it was paying serious credits. I check the station or planetary base location on the galmap before I take the mission.

'Ah but Red' you say 'what if you haven't ever visited the system, can't buy any exploration data for it and it's not one which has data pre-populated as part of the set we all get?' Well when that happens, I just don't take the mission.

By the way, you think yours was bad? Check this out, screenshot is from about a year ago:

As you may be aware, Hutton Orbital is 0.22 light years (not seconds) away from the main star, it takes about 80 minutes to fly there in supercruise. The mission paying out 2,662 credits for that run isn't even the funny part, it's that you'll lose credits on the trip due to the ship integrity damage from flying in supercruise for 80 minutes; last time I went there I set off in a fully repaired Python and shelled out around 50k for repairs when I arrived. Oh and there's the 55 minute timer too. You can't reach Hutton Orbital in 55 minutes regardless of what ship you're flying.

Needless to say, I didn't take that mission. :D
