Ship vs Ship physics

Hi all,

Been enjoying a bit of PvE piracy recently and a situation happened that made me think about the physics between two ships.

I took out my targets thruster's (a T7) and they started a continuous spin in a single direction spilling out cargo all over the place. So my question, is can I use my ship to stop the other ships spin and movement completely? Can I put my ship against the other one and counter the spin and movement and bring it to a complete stop? If I can I stop the ship take out the cargo hatch cleanly and empty without losing all the cargo..

Could be a fun challenge!

Have they changed the behaviour of ships again? AI always fly Flight assist ON, the ship should always come to a complete halt once thrusters are disabled.

Possibly, he was flying forward rotating and dropping cargo all over the place. Lost lots of lovely battle weapons this way :(

Also after you interdict them they don't tend to run anymore, they just fly off at max non fsd speed. Not sure why...

yes you can! it is tricky, though. but full pips to shield and eventually faoff, than counter-movement will do the trick (as with faon the enemy ship might bump off)

yes, they changed that.

basically you have to take out the powerplant for a stop, than the thrusters, and if the npc reboots, thrusters again.
