Homophobia is nothing but a desire to stamp out otherness; it ends nowhere but in nationalism and control. It is far more significant, and infinitely more costly, than a billion pounds. It is never a quirk, and always a project.

The Islamophobic hobby horse of trying to claim that gay people should support them because Muslims inherently hate gays and women is also a load of tosh. Here's some evidence.

Its not a concern at all fer me...and I have no hesitation in telling anyone here or in real life that I swing both ways with a great many friends in the LGBT community here. Not bad considering my very right wing politics yes?

But no, its not one of my concerns at all...I just wanted to know if there was an actual question or point ^

If you're bi, do you really not care about the homophobia peddled by the right wing nationalist groups?

The point is that nationalism isn't harmless, and it's inexorably linked to homophobia, transphobia, misogyny and so forth.

The central idea in fascism is the "one people, one culture" ideal. Being different from the norm is wrong, and needs to be punished.

Not in the slightest no because its not something Ive really experienced personally, and I know a lotta people in what you would describe as right wing extremist groups. A few dont like me at their meeting certainly, but I just dont listen to them and they eventually shut up when they know they arent actually having any impact.

Its the same logic behind ignoring anyone who thinks they superior to others, either in intelligence or in political ideals.

Besides, "nationalist" groups dont mean the same thing here that they do where yer from although I do indeed hate them with a passion. Its not their homophobic views I hate because they dont express any...not openly anyway.

Its an outsider issue let them deal with it ^

I do not think all the homophobes are nationalists. And I do not think all the nationalists are homophobic. Perhaps in Russia, Iran and Muslim countries but not in Western countries

I would say that in these enlightened times of rainbow flags and changing laws, to include everyone as equal; it is sad, but a fact of life. That some are bigoted and even; afraid, of different. Many are of course; easily lead; will go with the crowd; be it to wave the hacking cross or the rainbow flag; but don't really have an opinion of their own; they just agree with the loudest shout.

True equality in all its forms, across the planet; is still a century or two off; be it boys and girls, black or pink or who it is acceptable to love.

Hmm, I'll grant you that "nationalism" tends to have a slightly different meaning in places where there's an active struggle (or a cold war) over the borders of the state.
