Track IR now not working after new install

On my old PC track ir worked perfectly

Now on new PC also with Win 10 64 bit track ir no longer working with Elite Dangerous. Works fine with other games. Cannot think of anything else I can do except abandon the game.

Anyone any tips? Any config file to check etc?

Been a long time since I did a fresh install without my .bindings file but don't you have to disable mouse headlook in Options? Can't remember if it worked straight after install.

For me, I have to run both Track IR and Elite in Administrator mode. If you didn't have to do that before, it is possible you may have to do so now.

If one of them runs in Admin mode, the other has to as well. You can't share this kind of access across permissions-levels.
Never had to do this myself on Win8-10 to get it to work though.

OP: I may have issues only if I start TrackIR after I've started ED. Rarely though, it just doesn't properly detect ED at that stage.
However, quit both and start up TrackIR first solves my issue.

Yes I rebooted - just off to try both in Admin mode and will try disabling mouse headlook. Hope to have a go in next hour although game now saying cannot connect to server try later

OK - did all that. In the end uninstalled Track IR failed at reinstalling, managed to port install from old PC. Track IR finally runs with ED so thanks for pointers

Yeah, I know that's how it should work. But for some reason they don't talk to each other on my system if they're both unelevated, but they do if they are both elevated. So I elevate.

Glad to hear you got it working. Head tracking makes a huge difference to the game.

I just wouldn't have played it without this being sorted. Wonder though if updates to Track IR will work. Still Naturalpoint have sent me a procedure to try out if needed so fingers crossed. All this assumes it works next time I try ED! Thanks again
