Cant so much as take a leisurely stroll through the forums nowadays without tripping over some thargoid related thread...so much so that fer the first time in a long time, the forums have stopped being more fun than playing the game itself.
Interesting question, as usual Verminstar : Yeah, I have to admit, this is kinda annoying.
As for me, I try to ignore the hype of the day and work on old stuff I wanted to do ages ago (right now, the ruins mission given by Ram Tah, with excel sheets, Voice Attack recordings etc. etc. => Geekus Maximus mode on). And some booze to forget that the whole thing is entirely available on the webz, deciphered by our beloved CANNON maniacs ;-). I also intend to spend a lot of time on Elite Dangerous: Premonition.
To make a long story short, I wait for some bugs ironing + hype slowdown, then I'll try to see what there is to do with the Thargoids pre-2.4.
To be fair with FD though, I'd just say that (so far) the community seems pleased with this new 'thing', so I won't rain on the collective parade. TBH, I think that this event / puzzle / whatever is much better than the previous ones : it seems FD is starting to understand that they NEED to include more than 3 players in what seems to be their obsession : one shot puzzles.
Furthermore, the Thargoids were indeed something we knew was coming from KS days so I cannot really complain, even if they are fairly low on my priorities list...
TL/DR : *shrug* it will pass, it always does.
