Am I the only one freaked out by Salome's message?

Salmoe's last message made a bit of an impact on me. And it doesn't seem like people are talking about it very much. What does it mean? Should we stand up against system authorities, rebel? Anyone else up for a galaxy wide fight against Galcop?

Sure, let's kill people because others might haven't told us all the things they knew. How about starting with Salomé and their cohorts - oh, wait Salomé is already dead.

Why this obsession with killing others for "truth" and "because I'm right"?

In her last message Salomé regretted that she caused the death of thousands and then goes on to manipulate others to kill others - because those others are "evil manipulators" and Salomé is a "good manipulator".

And btw: didn't GalCop disband decades ago?

My issue is that Salomé was apparently
- extremely chatty
- deeply in love with tangent narration
- prone to forget what her "Messages" were originally supposedly about while letting her mind drift off while on [Verbose=ON]

In short : Lots of talk, extremely little useful or relevant information.
To make things worse, what little she delivered was transmitted in the most improbable and ineffective ways possible.

So even after all this long time, we basically know next-to-nothing.
- SuperPowers (Federation ahead of them all) are corrupt... No News
- big Corporations (which for the most part exist only in ASCII-only format in ELITE) are corrupt... No News
- Exodus Preparation via Project Dynasty... okay, that's something
- Universal Cartographics, Trade hubs... all pouring Credits into the same big thing (Salomé's Requiem).... *uhm* okay, what are we supposed to do then?
(cease doing it all? Uninstall the Game? Sightseeing only? Makes no sense, since the levels of interaction (or any measns to i.e. boycott them) simply don't exist in-game...)
- Rebellion against {undefined}... *uhm* again... what? How? Doesn't make any sense, because that's not how the entire Game works *lol*

There are already a fair few folks acting against Sirius and Wreaken... Willa might be on to something re powerplay.

I kind of skimmed the message.

But, the shadowy group controlling what happens where and controlling the release of information just sounds like Fdev creating CG's moving Jacques and all that ;-)

Sorry if I'm wrong, but wasn't her last message part of an 8 minute video posted elsewhere?

That's the only link I saw and I passed on it (maybe others did too?)

Yeah, that's par for the course, and inline with her in the first book.

I'm wondering if the dialogue was never going to be told...

Perhaps Frontier had a change of heart once they knew Harry Pothead killed her in his "brutal" cheating God-engineered ship and decided to go ahead and post the end of the story.

Bit odd, after all, that she should resurface?

My biggest concern as we go forward with "The Return" was that I would end up defecting to the Alliance due to the obvious "beef" between the Thargoids and the Federation and the corruption within the Empire as well. Now with the most recent audio from Salome' I find myself questioning the Alliance as well which means I guess I will hold tight with the Federation and keeping my home system with Sol...

Space Trump basically. Makes for an interesting fictional character but not a real person.

I heard her message. While I'm not totally disregarding it, I'm not going to freak out about it either.

She didn't provide any details as to who the nefarious people are nor what their actually agenda is. We already have some information on the Formidine Rift mystery - i.e. the sacrificed Mega ship that seeded beacons for a possible evacuation to "secret" Earth-like worlds in case of humanities demise (probably by Thargoid invasion).

Assuming some secret group did all this as a possible contingency to ensure the survival of our species, why should I do anything about it? So far it sounds like a secretive group just made emergency plans for species survival and were extremely ruthless in trying to maintain the secrecy. So unless they also plan to wipe out humanity, or something else super evil, my reaction is - whatever. We've got other things to worry about.

While I sympathize with her somewhat, her ramblings were typical of anarchists. She claims you should distrust authority and she's using her authority status to make that claim. That's hypocritical.

I'm far more concerned with the Thargoid/Guardian connection and dealing with that threat. Also, I would also like access to any new hyperdrive that metadrive was working on. Other than that, RIP Salome and I've got other things to do.

Yep, it was like getting a speech from management, or worse, having to attend a meeting. Everything could have been summed up in one message, not 8 or 9 parts. I think she's 3303's equivalent to a youtuber.
