What was the point of locking down the Blackmount Outpost?

Apparently, because of attacks on security forces (?), the commodity market for the new outpost "Blackmount Orbital" at HIP 17692 is now in lockdown which has brought the community goal to a halt because players cannot deliver goods to the outpost.

Is there a sensible game objective or reason for this or is it just inane behaviour?

i think there is another CG to hand in bounty vouchers - seems nobody is doing that part then?

i highly doubt that it was intentional. the lockdown was pending before the CG afaik.

in the low population systems aroud maia, a lockdown is easy to trigger; most probably by state effects of passenger missions, scan data missions, skimmer kills missions, and smuggling missions plus shooting ships for materials in the anarchies (t9s and them like).

It's not part of this CG, but it would reduce the lockdown. I tried it for 5 minutes, but my trading ship (and lack of P v P skill) was no match for combat vessels and I quickly got despatched to the re-buy screen :)

i would head over but im worried with the adjudication server not being reachable atm i wouldnt be able to hand in any bounties anyway.

Well this is the second one near Maia that has done this. Seems pretty silly to have a CG that isn't going to work because of the BGS

I've handed in 11 mil of bounties so far... No problem playing the combat CG. I had to ship my 8c Biweave down but it's made a change doing combat in the Cutter (even if it is a flying brick with the mass of a black hole). I've been playing pinball with the asteroids while boosting into condas and clippers :p thankfully the ship can take it... It's very satisfying ramming the bigger ships and I actually prefer ramming them to just shooting at them :D the other advantage is that the targeted ship doesn't turn hostile and you still collect the bounty when you ram it to death even if you haven't fired a single shot! I've taken down a wing of three condas this way before now... Just picking them off without a single shot fired! And made a nice pile of credits for the CG too

To oppose the federation?

Why should everybCG automatically succeed? There is some opposition, overcome it.

Keeping the Federation out of the sector....
Think about it, so far all the Thargoid attacks have been on Federation ships only, so what have the FED's done to pi** them off?

Handing in bounty vouchers will reduce the lockdown? If so then I'll rush out there in my shiny new Corvette (gotta take her to Palin anyway).

I do find it funny... turn the clock back to the Canonn CG for a megaship, lots of people complaining "There's no way to oppose it!"

This CG, someone opposes it (which could've been equally done for the Canonn CG),, complaining "Oh no! This is terrible!"

Yes, disabled station due to UA can be 'cured' with MA, and lockdown can be solved with bounty-hunting. Its really a game between sides.
