Added some PS4 and XB1 notes to the main post.

Console Notes
  • Xbox, PlayStation 4: Fix for the welcome mission not appearing for new commanders.
  • PlayStation 4: Fix for a bug where the game ran at an accelerated speed after resuming from Rest Mode.
  • PlayStation 4: General client progression-flow fixes for new commanders.

I'm disappointed that MEFs are back as mission rewards when they can be gained VERY EASILY from base scanning. The game needs more exciting ground escapades and this is taking a step backwards.
I'm disappointed that Engineer commodities have been removed, making the game so easy I can engineer an entire ship in a day without taking my eyes off the movie I'm playing.
I'm disappointed that 'materials that are not used for anything' haven't been made useful for 'something'. In fact I'm very disappointed when I go engineering I can't make a fuel scoop that scoops faster, an AFMU with extended ammunition, heat-proof explorer shields (could have weight reduction included) for fuel scooping, life support with expanded air tanks, rapid fire point defences, extended range ECM, Torpedoes that actually justify only having one or two shots, High explosive missiles, turreted cannons that actually hit their targets... seriously I could go on.

I'm glad to hear about the traffic controllers. That bug bothers me more than it should I think. I hope they tell us the assigned landing pad now, too, and not only if we engage a docking computer. For a long time the whole traffic controller "flow" has been not right. I'd also like to hear about the falling skimmers at surface settlements. I'm not fond of visiting any until this is properly fixed. I think it's close to a game-breaking bug. Also, I'll be curious to see if the mission board is back at Blackmount Orbital. :)

As long as you aren't at an outpost, no ATC, you get the pad announcement every time as long as you don't request docking before/while ATC are saying hello.

And would you be willing to pay for overtime of the FDEV employers that have to come to the office at 5 AM, because you happen the have a free morning and want to play? :)
Typical unionised over time nonsense.
I work when I need to for the same rates. Last week I had to take a call at 3am for a client in SE Asia. You're either committed to a job, or you're not.
[haha]

My Xbox automatically started to update Elite as soon as I switched it on. So just a confirmation that the client update has arrived. It's barely more than 200 MB.

I've downloaded the 83mb update which just went live for PS4 and the servers are still down. So don't get to excited just yet..

Engineer commodities haven't been in for ages, so this isn't new and it was by popular demand. As for the rest I don't really care

yeah but .. people say it's too difficult :/

I actually agree with mission locked commodities being gone, because no storage available, but wouldn't mind throwing in a couple of tons of hydrogen fuel, as I very rarely (if ever) buy it for any other reason. Easy to come by, I'm sure Engineer could use it for something and you'd only need it while en route to Engineer.

Some nice ideas in there. +1

Ok so just done an update for ED file just under 84 mb it's installed go to play game but server still down

Greetings commanders, we've an update on the way this morning at 10AM UK / 5AM East US.

We expect the servers to be down for about five hours while we perform this update. Below are the patch notes for this update.

I appreciate every patch, big and small!

The server downtime... I suppose that's a necessary evil. I got this message when I tried to log in this AM:
