And at the risk of sounding ancient. Am I one of the few who remember the old days when games were released, bugs n'all? Take it or leave it. No patches. No hot fixes. Superman 64 didn't need a patch, it needed burning at the stake! Could easily mention a few NES and Mega Drive/Genesis games. But that's enough time down memory lane!

I'm just taking it in my stride. I think all patches are good, no matter how long the servers are down. I'm pretty new to ED so maybe not as much withdrawl here.....but I have started doing rasping noises like the engine of my Asp Explorer. Does that count as withdrawl symptoms?
Just as long as you don't start making the out of life support noises.

I've been ing around in Star Citizen. It's been months since I messed around in there. At least I got to see what the guys at Roberts Space Industries are up to.

I generally don't post, but I can't help finding this so pathetic... So to get the rid of some silly Idea, no, definitely no, USA ain't the biggest market !! Maybe one should refer to the Newsroom (A Sorkin) serie, 1st episode, there is a big claim about no USA are not the 1st country in the world (and this has some years already)
This is not a position nor my opinion, but only true facts, EU pop is 500+ Mil and USA 315. regarding the economy is the same, EU weight more (google and wikipedia are your friends)...
Those claim about, "god damn, I paid and won't suffer any downtime, I have rights etc..." are really childish and so unreal.
So let's get back to a few facts ==> actually buyin horizon season pass is 30 bucks... so If I refer to internet information, it's around the cost of 2 cinema tickets. How long can you play and enjoy for this ??? Over the last 18 month I played around 1200 Hr meaning less than 0.025 $/h !!
So finally I should say (cause I feel someone has to say it) THANK YOU FRONTIER for helping me having such great time an affordable price.
Thank you for keepin the promise made in 84 when I bought my first Commodore 64 and loaded Elite on Cassette player.
I played more in 18 month than in Flight simulator for 18 years. And you don't have to buy planes over and over or galaxy region (like FS Scenery).
So is Elite Dangerous perfect ? Certainly not, can it be improved ? Probably !! But thank you so much for your hardwork on achieving the best game possible ! [big grin]

IMO it should show maintenance info from the begining to inform all of us...
FA off flight in elite, is compairably easy. Even with small ships, like eagles, but slowing down after boosting, is mind bending stupid, for me.
Others like this system, i like most of the rest of the game. But, it's flight system, is too big of an issue to ignore.
But, after 1.000 hours of gameplay, it's too late for a refund.
Agreed, it's absolutely daft showing server status as OK for several hours when you cannot log in and play.

Hey Mark, this may come as a bit of a shock, but there are many time zones across the entire planet; so it's going to be a "bad time", regardless of when. So rather than having a little fit over the fact that a developer is patching bugs and fixing things that are otherwise busted as heck, maybe have a tea or coffee and chill out a bit.
Or you know, complain a bit like a 3 year old on the forums, assuming you know of course entirely the best time, globally, when to promote a new build to a geographically dispersed set of infrastructure.

Being hit with a five-hour outage a day after installing the game is not much fun! I also read in some posts that these outages are fairly frequent. Is that indeed the case?

I had a day off today and am sooooo glad they had a server update[yesnod] , There has not been a fast moving example of human behavior for a while to be able to calibrate.
