I woke up this morning to find no message from FD and all of my unicorn/god rolled modules were still in place. (not surprised one bit)
I know it's slightly OT, but it does have to do with FSD ranges in an offhanded way, but something I noticed after doing nearly 600 grade 5 rolls on various modules... grade 5 FSD rolls seemed the hardest by far to get a really good outcome on. After just a few rolls it seemed I got damn near max rolls on LS, sensors, utilities, the few weapons I tried..even shield boosters...but it took 300 rolls on my DBE drive, and 200 more on the 'Conda...just a thought I had...anyways...carry on everyone!@

How can you grind so many mats... After an hour of killing T7s/T9s in Outbreak systems, and another scanning wakes in distribution centers in Famine systems, my eyes bleed. And all that for a measly 30 rolls or so...

I don't really consider it a grind *grins* And I purely love killing diseased refugees. I don't particularly care for driving the little SRV space buggy...but it's starting to grow on me a little. They ought to just sell the damn data/mats or allow trading between players, then no grind at all, but what the hell do I know?

Reposting with a timestamped GalMap screenshot (as proof of no exploit shenanigans) and an extra 0.01 ly range (thanks to shaving a few kilograms off the power distributor).

Ship: Anaconda
CMDR Name: Carbucketty
Jump Range (max): 70.35 ly

But the real reason I'm updating is because this is now the range I get with stock ADS, DSS, and heat sink launcher:

Nice.

Aniway I got these mods on sensors and life support. What do you think? Should I try to get better?

Sensors (8D):

mass -> 11.47T (-82.1%)
integrity -> 35 (-71.2%)
target scan angle -> 21.11° (-29.6%)

life support (5D)

mass -> 2.26T (-71.7%)
integrity -> 43 (-49.5%)

Think thats probably close to the best you will get without insane numbers of rolls.
Mine are:
Life support - lightweight (-69.6%)
Sensors - Lightweight (-82.2%)

How did it turn out? 300 rolls must have turned up something pretty special. I sure hope so for you CMDR, that dedication deserves it o7

Coriolis and outfitting window claim I should have .09 more full tank range than my function panel does, not sure whats up with the discrepancy. This is my minimum explorer loadout. Can get 61.9 max range if I strip out the scanners shields and SRV but at that point its a glorified shuttle, still a decent showing with the explorer loadout. No heatsinks, I've yet to actualy need them and I've done the SagA run. Still tinkering with the FSD to try and get a better roll (50.3% opt mass and a kinda bad mass increase so far) and may swap out the PP for a class 2A at some point.

I waited until I'd finally unlocked Lori Jameson before posting here.
This is my default 'long-range racing' configuration for The Nomad (eg Buckyball runs to Sadge A*), it has an ADS scanner, but nothing else that adds mass.
For genuine exploration I'd fit a DSS and possibly an SRV hanger, but I'm mostly a racer.
The 1D Distributor was the only roll out of 20 attempts that had enough engine capacity to allow (occasional!) boosts, so I thought it was worth the mass increase (to 0.55t).

Racing around the bubble I fit low-power 3D shields, engineered 5A thrusters and 4A distributor and the Jump range is still about 55ly

CMDR Name: Raiko

Jump Range (Max): 60.10
Jump Range (10t Full Tank): 59.06
1000 ly trip jumps (approx): 18

I was (very) lucky with the FSD, it definitely took less than 50 rolls, I'm fairly sure it took less than 30.
I've rolled 10 or 20 times since, in the hope of a similarly good roll plus a fuel increase, but I've mostly given up after seeing how many rolls others have needed to make. I'll save my FSD materials for drives on my other ships.

As with Merendel's build, the full tank range in the tab disagrees with coriolis and the outfitting screen.

Have you tried a 5d distributer instead of the 4a? A little engineering and I can still boost and I think it is a little lighter too...if I remember correctly???
