Horizons Interior Ship Design

I find it strange that from the sidewinder to the anaconda the interior ship control is the same design, one could be forgiven to think that in a sidewinder your on a bigger ship, apart from looking left or right or the nose cone I suppose

I've rationalised this in my head that over a thousand years from now we have standardised inputs and control panel layouts for space ships in much the same way as we have standardised steering wheel & Clutch-->Brake-->Accelerator pedals on 20th centruy onwards cars.

Thats a plausible reason. I think it is a lot of work to make different designs for each ship and it is only a cosmetic thing so it is not as important as other things. Good to have, but not necessary

What I'd love is if they kept the 7 holograms (left panel, right panel, comms panel, role panel, your hologram, target hologram, scanner) we have just now and added new screens operated in similar mode to galaxy map / system map / galactic powers that added new mechanics to the game, such as stellar cartography, hacking, proper gunner mode flicking through turret mounted cameras to select targets, even able to fire them manually remote piloting supercruising stellar body scanner drones, telepresence player launched skimmers, a hacking suite, a comms jammer, etc etc... Big ships like corvette could have a couple of these speciality suites, smaller ships would have different ones, to prevent a new meta god ship emerging no ship should have all of them.

Good point but even if we standardized the dashboards, the clutch, brake and accelerator, they still look different from one brand to the other...

real people don't even exist in Elite. Everyone is a holographic projection. Humanity is extinct and what's left is a race of machines. That's the only way to explain multicrew
