Now this is the kind of PvP I'm looking for

I didn't cut or edit anything, so it starts off a bit slow, but gets pretty heated...

Some back story here...I encountered this CMDR in SC and recognized him as someone who attacked me without warning at the last CG. Seeing him in the RES, I decided to move off a bit to see if he'd follow. He did. I then saw his wingman drop in and decided it was best to be the first one to open fire, rather than the second or third.

While loosing the ship wasn't ideal, the experience overall was a near exemplar of a what I consider an enjoyable combat encounter. I feel I did well, but I made enough mistakes that there is notable room for improvement. The outcome was far from certain at the beginning, and even toward the end there was some doubt. No one disconnected, no one hurled insults, etc. I had fun and it was a good test of my piloting and my loadout.

Some people like duels, and they while I occasionally indulge in them, I prefer more asymmetric challenges.

Also, first time I've ever shot down the same CMDR three times in one fight. Have shot down several people twice in one fight, but three times is a personal best. This is also the first time I've essentially been cornered without an especially grievous mistake (well, other than fighting five people at once) on my part.

RIP Melisa Koch...(un)fortunately you were the most expendable member of my crew.

P.S. If these guys aren't AoD, someone let me know and I'll correct the video title. I only recognized the first one.

That looked like all kinds of fun. I liked how you managed to hat-trick the one CMDR at the very last second. :D Nice bit of spaceshipping going on in here. o7

My main mistake was screwing up the priority of that SCB at some point early on, probably the thing that prevented me from escaping when I initially tried to wake out.

Didn't realize I had done that until it was too late.

Yeah, that was satisfying. When I realized I was in for an escape pod ride out of there, I deployed my weapons and scrambled to find the softest target...and the the Courier was again.

Ive said it a few times, even top pilots make mistakes as evidenced here. When you are under that much pressure its bloody hard not to miss a gear.

I'm sure you will have it checked for the next 5+v1 engagement.

Cant beat hardcore brawlin to expose even the tiniest of cracks in your game.

That, plus soloing against 3 adversaries who are skillfully splitting your attention in three directions at once.

I just realized that I didn't even break the priorities in combat, just failed to notice they were broken. Go to 15 seconds in...priorities are already wrong. I must have forgot to switch it back after swapping out my cargo rack and didn't notice until I actually hit a PP malfunction from the scramble effect.

That SCB is supposed to be priority 4...with it on 1 a PP malfunction cuts power to my thrusters...and I'm pretty sure that's what killed my first escape attempt.

Bit of a novice mistake, but yeah, fight and learn.

Yeah, his biggest strength and something we should all aspire to is how he stays cool when things get crazy. Ive flown with him a lot and he never gets in a flap.

There is always so much talk about loadouts and meta but that's all secondary to the ability to multithread in an engagement and prioritise threats and deal with them.

Are you implying he's a "top pilot"?

That was indeed a thrilling fight. Have some more rep.
I would love to hear their voice chat, if they were expecting a a quick kill when the FDL dropped in and their call for help from the clippers.

In those vids I always realize that i seem to miss some points that might be important to combat like the module deactivating and repairs.

Nice video, can't rep you again (liked the youtube vid instead).

Is there any way to minimize all those FSD failures? They are a killer ...

Nice fight Morbad. Enjoyable and educational +1 (sry cant rep you again). We learn while we live. As for priorities, easily forgotten, thats why I fly silent ;)

That's pretty funny. You clearly don't watch very much Elite PvP.

Having a bunch of youtube videos of PvP doesn't make you good.

Reading between the lines with some pseudo-psychology: "Why is no-one giving me any attention? Grrrrr Morbaaaaaaaaaaad - stealing my limelight!!"

Don't worry Oddisee...I'm sure your mom thinks you are the best! [haha]
