So cosying up with the Alliance a good idea now? (I hear they are pals with the thargoids)

[alien]

If true, they might have more of an insight into the bio- tech?

Also thinking Palin and Ram Tah may be useful

I am assuming we are going to take a beating until we figure out the tech .

Maybe the Alliance won't be at war with them.

The Alliance befriending the Thargoids is unfortunatelly only a story they tell to their children in the old worlds. :-/

If you are looking for discounted ships, go to Wolf 406 (Diamondback Explorer) and Alioth (Orca, Asp Explorer).

Imho, cosying up with as many engineers as possible might be best for the future (also in regards to Thargoids). ^^

Well, we know that the 'goids seem to be miffed with the Feds. I've heard the Alliance may well be on their bad side too...

Goids don't even consider us a worthy enemy. They have their own stuff going on.

The Alliance / Thargoid thing didn't work out either. Ask Bill Turner.

Hell no! Lol.

The Alliance doesn't have Capital Ships and Mahon is the LARGEST PowerPlay faction. An alien assault against them is to be expected and something I'm very much looking forward to. :D

Uh-huh. That's why they're doing mycoid research. Because they want to cure the Thargoids.

Mahon isn't as fluffy and idealistic as he looks. I don't think anyone really knows how this is all going to pan out yet.

It's always a good time to cosy up with the Alliance. Most organized set of player groups in the galaxy. If anyone stands a chance against the Thargs it is us. Or ....

we'll be flying Capital Flowerships :D

Working on engineering for sure. Probably my FDL and Conda.
Hope there is some exploration or mystery too.

Looking forward to it, whether its turns out as a glorious battle or a Human extinction event!

What is still in the Lore and what is retconned out?

In: Mic Turner and Meredith Argent are founders of the Alliance.

Probably Out: Meredith Argent was the head of a HUGE ship building enterprise AAAI based on New Rossyth in Alioth. (No sign of Alliance shipyards, or ships, but I really hope Frontier bring this back In)

In: Meredith Argent was the scion of old (industrial) money, her ancestors are mentioned in old reports of 'Caker Rebellions'. During the period she is involved in "Caker Cells" they receive massive funding. (Caker = old name for Alliance rebels)

Probably In: Mic Turner was killed in Plieone in 3252 (by INRA).

In or Out who knows?: His flight recorder pointed Polaris (now permit locked) as a system of interest.

Definitely Out: If you got Mic Turner's flight recorder, you could get a vaccine for the mycoid virus that INRA developed against the Thargoids, and by delivering it to Hotice and then Miacke you could get a Thargoid ship (from the Thargoids).

In: Mahon has initiated a Research project in the California Nebula investigating Fungal Growths (mycelium); giant pumpkins / Moth Eggs; crystal growths, telescopes and barnacles. If you scan ships arriving - there are slaves on board.
In: Mahon has that crazy ex-president of the Federation Jasmina Halsey as his "trusted advisor"

Worth noting: Every time Michael Brookes mentions the Alliance he drops the word: "Traitors" (to humanity, to the independents etc).

No sign of Alliance <> Thargoid interaction at the Pleiades.
Keep a look out in the California Nebula. - Watch for barnacles that move to "always ripe" cycle - it's the first sign of Thargoid activity.

Wow, didn't actually know about the Alliance using slaves at California Nebula. I knew that the Alliance had a somewhat complicated problem with underground slave trade (as the Feds have wage slaves and the Imps have Imperial Slavery, controversial labor seems to be the Superpower standard) but not to the extent that they were using slavery for research purposes in deep space. That's completely new to me, will have to go out there and poke around at some point with a cargo scanner.
