And we are back: it's about exclusivity.

Yes I'm aware of the meaning, I was just wondering if there's anything at all that FD could possibly do to fix their error in making it exclusive, by changing it to NONEXCLUSIVE and being very generous by offering lots of store credit as compensation. The idea is that they might be able to adequately compensate players for going back on their promise without the world ending. Apparently no, some people still wouldn't be satisfied....... Just checking.

They could release another ship with the same basic layout but a different shape. A mini-Asp or something. Then we'd have two rubbish ships :)

Haven't you figured it out already, oh all of you "but I want it, I want it!!!" people? Well I'm kinda irritated after these 17 pages, so here it is:

It is by far the best ship in the game. We all had to sign a disclosure with FD upon receiving it, agreeing not to ever show the true stats. The data on Coriolis and Edshipyard are false, implanted by FD. I will not disclose the true data, of course (I signed it too) but will only say Mk IV have a multiplying factor of x50 for all the transactions, has a special treatment at any base (you don't have to go to Engineers, only type in the percentage you want), and so on.

Some of us proud exclusive owners go to forum with "but it's meh, don't be upset, you don't need it". Well I tell you now it's a decoy.

So that's the true reason we try to keep it to ourselves. (and yes, exclusivity as in "forever, never again - Braben and Zac).

You will never have it.

The Cobra MkIV is effectively preventing small pad only ports being put in the game (it would become a meta ship).

Ha ha, that's a good idea but sadly it wouldn't work for me, I only want it because I think it looks cool, I wouldn't actually use it for anything, although I'm sure many others would find your idea attractive.

I think you just broke the non disclosure agreement. Your CM4 will now become the CM4*. The asterisk makes it conform to the "official" stats.

Wow, for the best ship in the game it sure goes down like a sack of potatoes whenever I fight one. I must be a better pilot than I thought! :D

You had to Pre-Order Horizons within the time frame given with the offer. There were more conditions that just Vanilla + Horizons.

That's what I remember. However, the text in the FAQ states otherwise and I faintly remember something about extending that to early buyers. The marketing and versioning of Horizons was quite a big mess - I think it changed its shape thrice in my Steam lib. From Early Access to DLC to unifying with the vanilla ED version.

No no, read your disclosure agreement carefully, below "...and special combat characteristics".

See? Only the actual performance specs are sanctioned.

These are not the actual ships we have, you see CM4*. Ours are... well, think Chuck Norris.

No error was made in making it exclusive, that is just something you will have to live with isn't it. You may want it, but you will never have it, that is something else you will have to learn to live with, my suggestion would be to next time, pre order stuff so you can guarantee that you will get that little bit of exclusivity, it goes with every game that is released that has an exclusive pre order package built in. CoD games for example have that exclusive skin for a weapon that will make them really good players and make everyone that sees it think WOW, they must be a really good player (in reality they are sadsacks). Just because you want something does not mean that you can have it or it is yours to take.

Now then, should I paint mine Black Friday along with the rest of my fleet or not, that is the real question that this thread should be about. Do you have the Black Friday paint job? A fleet of Cobra IV's flying past you all painted in that exclusive colour could really rub your nose in it couldn't it.

My Cobra IV eats Chuck Norris for breakfast would you believe.

I turned your 'complaint' from objective to subjective though ;)

I have no idea whether FD see it as an error or not, but certainly in this thread, the vast majority of people posting - even many who adamantly want it to remain exclusive at all costs - view the decision to make it exclusive as an error on FD's part, which is why I referred to it as such. You might be quite right that FD have no qualms about sticking to their promise and never releasing it. On the other hand they might well make the announcement tomorrow, so its not about rubbing noses because you have absolutely no say in the matter and the situation could easily change at any time with or without your (or my) approval. In that case I wouldn't have to live with it. The only thing that matters is what FD ultimately decides.

Oh yeah, its about as subjective as you can get. :)

I believe, of course, I have one too (unlike some). But we should stop now, don't you think? We are both close to the breach of a contract.

I would be happy to stop, but we are not even close to breach of contract, that is my opinion and Chick Norris's too.

Sorry mate, but we do have a say, we gave them real money for an exclusivity. As in rl deal, contract, promises, payments.

You lot have no say.

(sorry, I honestly don't want to irritate you or be rude to you, I kinda like this exchange here, only pointing to the facts of life. Yes of course they can change their mind, but so can all the people who bought the exclusivity then when FD needed the money, and restrain themselves from doing it again)

How would you feel about it if FDev were to release a functionally identical but completely different looking ship?
