Allow us to play ED on PS4 with PSVR

I know PSVR support is not "yet" supported.

I don't care if it hits 60 fps or not, just allow us to play ED on PSVR while support for PSVR is improved as a test phase... I'd volunteer to be a tester for PSVR and submit valuable bug feedback if FD needs one.

I have PS4 Pro with PSVR

Yes PSVR support is very much needed. As an "X" PC player (PC could no longer keep up) I really miss head tracking, and the lack of it ruins ED on the PS4.
War Thunder supports the PS4 camera so why can this not be made available in ED. Whilst it is not as good as Track IR used on PC it s better than none at all.
Yes you can use the touch pad for head tracking (I personally found it pretty useless) but like many others I use the Thrustmaster T.Flight HOTAS and as far as I can see there is no way to map in any Head Tracking.
So come on ED Dev's at least get the PS4 camera support happening! I have a PS4 Pro and would buy PSVR if it was supported.

It won't happen. PS4 doesn't have the grunt.

You maybe dont Care but Sony does,
If Frontier doesnt deliver constant 60 fps,
Some kid might say hes getting epileptic attacks
And goes who gets lawsuited?

Which is why I noted "test phased" (closed) until every kinks are worked out.

Just going to include the post you skipped over, because it's just the truth, whether you want to hear it or not. Neither the console, nor the headset, have the juice to do it.

If they did, it would be supported without question.

Believe me, if there is a way to make it work up to spec, Frontier will make it work. Additionally, if it can be done at all, I am quite sure they are already working on it.

I willing to bet Sony are well aware of the limitations of the PSVR,if they aren't working on the next gen PSVR with a box of tricks to boost the power, they'll be working on the PS5.
Its still early days for VR and it hasn't been perfected yet,a high end PC can just about handle it and the headsets are in reality still very primitive.
Who knows, maybe the new Xbox has been purpose built for VR,time will tell and i will buy one just to play ED in VR if it can.
I'm just glad FD plan to continue development on Elite Dangerous so when the technology does catch up it will be ready and waiting.

by default, the head look toggle is the "R3" button on the forward edge of the stick, it uses the hat to modify.

Played ED in VR on a PC with embedded GFX controller...

rest assured, this PC was not even close to the computing powers of a PS4...

there are Battlefront VR Mission is impressingl both in speed and gfx quality and im quit sure that FDev's gfx Core is very efficient compared to others from what i testet it.

There is quit a lot of discussions arround Sony's PSVR framework which seems to be a burden to a lot of developers.

interfaceing the Cobra Engine to the PSVR Framework might not be an wasy task so give them a while to flesh that out.

meanwhile i play ED on PSVR using my Embedded GFX iMac and am happily expecting ED to support the PSVR in it's native enviroment. Because with my PS4 pro the experience will be wven better!

I have elite dangerous on ps4 pro and the psvr as well as pc

I play elite on my pc with the psvr using Trinus psvr.. and with the vr quality set to low. and res set to 1280x720
Its not as sharp as the monitor but the emersion is great.. and the graphics card is a gtx960 2mb which is not vr compattable. and fails to run elite in high settings even when i use the monitor.. the ps4 and the ps4 pro run the game better than my pc.. I think it can be done but the cockpit menus have to be more readable and the graphics would have to be down scaled.. but once you fly in to a starport and see the size of the things you dont notice the low graphics..

Yeah, scond that, resolution in VR Mode needs to be adjustet to the Physical Abilities of the PSVR ( which is not Full HD ) also Text needs some tuning in the HUD´s since it is somewhat harder to reed in VR due to technical reasons not valid on a normal 2D Screen
