Frontier have stopped the path of: "Adopt a faction, be given recognition"

So the route to a PMF is longer than a legal battle.
The problem is that there is no "progression".
Applicants just have to sit in a cue for months.

If it's just a name issue - Frontier could generate a bunch of names like- "Placeholder [SystemName] [Allegiance] [GovtType]"
Then replace when resolved.

There should be a season scale timegate, but starting the cue 3 times seems harsh.
Being part of a group is such an awesome part of the game.

WHO CAME FIRST? srsly the best way to add a pmf is to take WHO CAME FIRST?!

we probably came first cause we change 3 time name and need to resubmit and fall down to the "list".

now the pmf has been added in game, all without us. and now? we have to found a new system, resubmit again probably and wait for next time, maybe other 6\7 months. thats unbelivable. Probably lots of cmdrs for my group choice to go to play with other group because who want to play as group without an objective? this game is not only farming in res or make money, we have our lore, we have our history from day one on PC, we are plenty of cmdrs near to be an hundred on our group what i have to say to all! hey guys continue to do eremit around bubble see u in next 7 months.

Part of the request is for your faction in a specific system..That will most likely still be the system they will eventually give you, as long as you were the first to ask for that system.
That is what they say..
So, someone having a PF in a nearby system isn't a concern.
So,,you just need an acceptable name. As much as this is sucking for you, keep trying. Again, Good Luck.

You won't ever get a faction added to a first discovered system, unless it's very near Colonia. PMFs are only ever added to systems that already have populations, at least one outpost and several existing NPC minor factions.

I'm actually surprised that FD have taken so long adding some of these factions, considering how careless they are when they do add player factions. They have added factions with very stupid names, e.g. Space Poultry. They have broken permit systems, e.g. Phekda. They have erased rare goods, e.g. Wolf Fesh. They have given away some of the largest systems in the game, e.g. He Bo. They have even proved that they don't learn from past mistakes, e.g. Gilya.

Correct. Systems ALWAYS have to have a population of at least one. If not, it will be auto-rejected when we run the script to import factions.

Colonia systems are added on an entirely different system and basis.


Many desired-systems are now on the blacklist from being used. Many of the older/originally added player factions did not succumb to these restrictions and extensive checks.

is also ridicolous theres only one person to make all the stuff (Brett), cmon i think there a list of volunteer who can handle the request and only make a ping to cmdrs who make the request "wee see you have sumbit, have patience". meh, i can do it, gratis one our at day.

Multiple people work on this current minor-factions setup. To be honest, the current system for minor faction applications and process is less than ideal and really is bulging at the seams due to the sheer amount of applications we've had in recent months.

edit; To clarify, the entire process is manual - there's minimal automated work to this current system right now.

Five months ago, maybe six, in a topic far far away, we submitted our request for our new player faction.

we are an italian group, one of the biggest of our nation for number of players, so we arent two alone guys.
We decide in February to start our wing, make one pmf and enjoy the Game as group.

We make the request, as normal, in the pmf sumbission form, all our members vote for a name, and we choose Tesla Corporation, in honour of the well knowed scientist and god.

A pair of months lather, maybe one, maybe three, who care!! Frontier says in the apposite topic "Tesla Corporation" has ben rejected cause Ip\copyright violation.

Well, we resumbit, maybe tesla corporation is too similar to the real industry and may Elon Musk can be jealous.
Change name, remove the corporation, mantain Tesla because theres a lot of station called Tesla in game and Tesla is the name of a proud scientis, we want to homage him with that.

Tesla Royal Industries, second choice, sounds good, no society in the world can call itself tesla royal industries, camon. this time is the good time, all happy.

change completely the name, who care, we make sites, logos and other stuff with tesla but, who care! choose another name.

Tethys empire crew. What? the second edition of tetris? no no, Tehtys was a greek god and Saturn have a moon called as it! theres in game too, u can land on it! oh cool, yeah, Tethys Empire Crew sounds good and i think theres no one philantrope in the world who play elite dangerous who have a farm called Tethys. i like it. make a submission.

aaaand. pmf ready in game, a big list. lot of pmf, of course no tethys empire crew, but, oh damn, theres one called Blizzard. i think blizzard has deposited his brand.

So, we choose Tesla as the name of a little city near Casalpusterlengo, Tuscany Italy, called Tesla. wheres u god now?


Anyway this thing is really fruystrating, 5, 6 months for a spreedsheet. i have no word, all this can only ruins my community, my group and i have to disband all cause player WANT to play e not to wait.

The new minor faction name I do not see an issue with from my end of things. It has not been processed yet due to some issues on a previous series of additions to Elite.

So, on august u start to check the sumbmission, like this one added a day ago so this means, after august, another pair of months and this means my community lets go to play with other italian groups who have received the pmf, and this means i have to disband all. tesla corporation have ip problem, and tesla royal industries? whats the matter..anywaym new one is Tethys Empire crew and i hope it can be good BUT:

you add a pmf 9ly from us. this means in this months of waiting, that pmf can came and conquer our system, or nearby.
i think is probalby another ghost pmf because i dint recognize it anywhere from forum to google or inara, maybe another 2 cmdrs wing who have forgot the sumbmission years ago and now probably dont play on ed anymore or play in the other side of the bubble.
thats is really frustrating, what i have to say to all my community, "cheers guy we need to wait another pair of months" they take their stuff and go to play to another communities, all that because we have to resumbit and not simply change a name. really disappointed i always defend your works and all fdev stuff but that situation broke the roleplay of an entire community not 2 guysm maybe 100.

naming isnt the problem, nearbly pmf isnt too. the problem was the fact i make my request on March. not on July, my first request tesla corporation was on March. now i have resumbit on 11 july as tethys empire crew, but now all gone. other 6 months of waiting. Why they dont contact us for choice another name in substitution of Tesla Corporation? fast, easy, and now we can enjoy our pmf and i didnt make that salty post.
