Engineers Looking for Proprietary Composites and Improvised Components

Hey all,

I need a little help here. Trying to scrounge engineer mats and cannot find any systems in the state they should be for these much less the mats themselves. From what I've gleaned searching for help, proprietary composites should be found in fed systems with the "elections" state. Well, aint nobody nowhere in this game having any elections that I can find. I go to systems listed in galnet that are 'supposed' to be having elections, but not a one of them show up as such. They all show up as 'boom' or something else, or even nothing at all. Same with improvised components. They are supposed to be located in systems with "civil unrest" but I have yet to find any systems in this state. How are we supposed to find the mats if the systems they are supposed to be in do not exist? Am I missing something here or what? I've not had too much trouble finding most anything else I've looked for but these two mats are really starting to annoy me. I'm getting really tired of spending my game time on a wild goose chase. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

Gliese 868 high sec fed election confirmed this system work cuz just found some proprietary composites and core dynamic composites

Thanks for the suggestion but I use the filter all the time. That's what I'm saying, no election or civil unrest systems have been showing up for me. I've been looking for 3-4 days now. Even in your screenshot, as you can see, the only systems lit up are 2 that are at war, 2 in bust, and 1 in civil war. Even scrolling out as far as I can go and still see the stars, I have not found any election or civil unrest systems. I have moved over to Gliese 868 now that Cmdr Mit recommended and have just started looking. Hopefully I'll find what I'm after.

Oh no worries then, when you mentioned Galnet I thought you were using that as your source of info for finding systems !

Yep, since I wasn't having any luck with the map system, I went to Galnet to see who was having elections, then checked those systems but none of them show up as being in election state even though Galnet says they are. Really frustrating. So far, I've been crusing in Gliese 868 now for about an hour and have yet to even get a High Grade Emissions USS to pop. Whoops, there we go! Just had one pop as I was typing this. It had the composites. I was crusing out about 1100ls from the main star which is where I've found the HGE's in other systems. None were spawning so I slowing started cruising in closer to the star and the amount of USS's really picked up at about 900ls or so and then got my first HGE. Now to just collect what I need then hunt down a civil unrest system!!

Just want you to know that if you want high grade emission to spawn make sure you are in deep space(im usually go away from the main star about 10000ls away) and are in high security system because for some reason low and medium sec have lower chance to spawn high grade and spawn encoded instead

Yep, I read that as well about the security so I started looking for high security systems as well as the state I need. I've seemed to find "sweet spots" at around 1000ls or so from the star and like you said, in deep space. I've never really cruised further out than about 1500ls and USS spawn in general seemed really slow the further out I went. Usually if I don't get a USS about every 2 minutes or so, I start cruising in closer until they start showing up. I've had as many as 4 on my screen at one time. Of course they weren't all HGE's (dangit) but that's a lot to spawn in just one area. The way I figure, if they are spawing fast, better chance to get an HGE.
