Unfortunately, no. According to the left, we didn't oppose Obama because we disagreed with his policies, but rather "just because" and because we're a bunch of racists.

BTW, Romneycare was socialism, but there was nothing wrong with Romneycare because it was a State run healthcare program.

States are perfectly within their powers granted by the constitution to run health care programs for their residents.

The "make Obama a single term president, oppose everything he tries" goal was set right at the start of his term, before he had done anything. It was not about policy. I didn't say anything about race btw, but talked about "the other side" being the enemy, who must be opposed.

As for Romney-/Obamacare being "socialism" that's really funny. It's a convoluted "privatised healthcare" contrivance, structured around modest competition between the providers. Socialism would have been government provided, state hospital healthcare paid with taxes.

"If the devil approached me an offered me a political office ...".

Zeh lulz.

No character, no faith, most certainly not 'conservative'.
A disgrace.

In case you missed it: http://insider.foxnews.com/2017/07/...e-jeanine-devil-politician-first-trolley-hell

I missed the righteous Christian outrage from the "character" side of the bench.

What are we supposed to do, go all pentacostal because someone made a reference to the devil?

I know that you hard-line leftists like to paint all conservatives as religious fundamentalists. The fact of the matter is, it's just not true.

I looked at the comments and now I feel slightly guilty I posted it here for people to point and laugh at... well, a little guilty. The question was asked in a good-natured way, and the congressman accepted the answer, even if the question itself seemed a little odd.

An important detail here: Dana Rohrabacher was member of the Committee on Science, Space and Technology, which has a strong control over NASA. Its akin to having the minister of finance inquire what 'inflation' means. Its not something to point and laugh at, as that is never great, but it is something to be deeply concerned of. Its a symbol for a political system that has zero interest in knowledge or relevant training. That committee shouldnt be filled with people who got a master's degree in American Studies and dont know if Mars changed a few thousand or billion years, or whether NASA found an alien civilization but forgot to mention it. There should be a bunch of dr. in a relevant scientific field, able to process info provided to them in a competent manner, and ask serious questions.

It was an odd question - hard to make heads or tails of it, as it seems counter-intuitive to what one would expect from a congressman. However, as you said above, there are virtually no gates on who can be elected to congress. There are pretty laughable representatives on both sides of the I'll.

I watched the full session on another video. The congressman seemed to be pretty excited by the space stuff. Maybe he was just looking at it all like an excited kid.

Also, you never know, he may have been put there because the NASA budget isn't in any danger, and there were more important committee spots that required more capable folks.

As some people showing us, there are no restrictions whom can vote, and honestly? Some people ain't no better than this congressman, but even worse.

FBI investigators and others are looking at Russian purchases of apartments in Trump buildings, Trump’s involvement in a controversial SoHo development in New York with Russian associates, the 2013 Miss Universe pageant in Moscow and Trump’s sale of a Florida mansion to a Russian oligarch in 2008, the person said. The investigation also has absorbed a money-laundering probe begun by federal prosecutors in New York into Trump’s former campaign chairman Paul Manafort.

- Bloomberg

Special counsel Robert Mueller is reportedly looking into possible money laundering on the part of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort as part of the federal probe into Russian meddling in the 2016 election. According to The Wall Street Journal, the focus on Manafort began “several weeks ago,” and the Senate and House intelligence committees are also looking into the matter. Manafort, who briefly led the president’s campaign last year, worked for a pro-Russian political party in Ukraine and is alleged to have other financial ties to Russia.

-WSJ

If you listen carefully, you can hear the fast heartbeats from the White House.

Trump himself is again looking to fire Mueller. He's bitterly complaining about Sessions recusal yesterday.

This is why. There's been something rotten in his finances from the get go, something that might show up in his secret income tax returns. But now he's between a rock and a hard place, because firing Mueller is his only means to stop the exposure.

I don't know what it would take to embarrass a creature like Trump.
But there's something here he desperately wants to keep hidden.

ISTANBUL—As moderate rebel groups in Syria tried to digest the news that the U.S. will soon cease all covert support for them—a sudden revelation they learned from press reports—northern Syria descended into further chaos.
As The Daily Beast reported Wednesday, American troops on the ground have been put at risk by Turkish reports of their numbers and their precise whereabouts. Now the very existence of moderate local forces backed by the U.S. hangs in the balance.
Some 15,000-plus rebel troops in northern Syria have been receiving CIA support for the past four years. But four commanders told The Daily Beast they had learned of the aid cutoff from news reports. They said they had feared something was afoot when they didn’t receive their salaries in July.

Do you have a link to that video? Did he mention anything about the militarisation of space? Pence and Trump seem keen to start up a branch of space marines. It looks like we are heading for "Iron Sky" <nervous grin>

Guilty?

WAPO reporting that the American President is inquiring of his lawyers the extent of his power to pardon himself.

Precisely as we predicted.

The Court’s ruling in Burdick was that a pardon carried an “imputation of guilt” and accepting a pardon was “an admission of guilt.”

The interesting legal issues arising from say a pardon for his Son-in-law include taking the 5th in future investigations: a pardoned man is in no danger of conviction, and therefore may no longer avail himself of those rights. That makes Kuschner much more likely to become a dangerous witness against the Trump Companies, which cannot be pardoned.

Edit:

As things get real in the investigation, the real lawyers are taking over.
Marc Kasowitz is taking a "diminished role" as qualified people step up to what must surely be a daunting task ahead.

Very unlikely scenario Potus pardoning himself or Son, if any questionable material should arise an explaination will normally be provided, and usually what happens.. is a NOTHING BURGER becomes the order of the day

The reality is this, you will always find something in someones past that is highly questionable, even possibly illegal.
however,
Russian collusion with President Trump in rigging the elections.. has been proven false time and time again

Here's Microsoft taking court action against Fancy Bear, the GRU Russian State hackers of the DNC that you don't believe in.

Oh, and the collusion?
Yeah, while you were gone or deep in prayer or whatever, Don Trump jr. CONFESSED and released the e-mail chains, so we all have it in black and white.
He's testifying under oath next week.

Oh yeah.

Everything you have been saying is now proved to be fullacrap.

It's not "unlikely", it's EXACTLY what I've said before. Along with all the non-brainwashed folks here.

But do go on, as it gives us stuff to repost and laugh at.

6,

It's over.
You lost.

We're just waiting for the details of the treason, money laundering, and other crimes.
And they are coming, because Muller has the Bank Statements now, he has the Taxes, he has Manaforte's Ukrainian connections to Putin and his multimillion debt that got mysteriously disappeared, and numbers cannot lie.
They also have Flynn ready to flip.
Soon they'll be coming for Bank of Cyprus guy in the cabinet.
And then Exxon's violation of sanctions laws will take them to Tillerson.
And when Mnuchin throws the Exxon case for the 2 million, they'll rope him in too.

Tick Tock.

T stands for Trial.

I just asked a really stupid question on Twitter. I was scared that asking that question makes me look dumb, but I did want to know the answer. I want everyone to feel comfortable asking stupid questions because everyone should be trying to find out new answers. And sometimes stupid questions aren't as stupid as they sound.

Of course there should be people with a scientific background on the Committee on Science, Space and Technology but that doesn't mean there should be people with expertise in other fields on that committee as well. I've gotta go to work so instead of looking it up, I'm going to assume there's absolutely nobody with a scientific background on this committee.

Yes there should, but which scientific field?

Here is Neil deGrasse Tyson, noted scientist, explaining how bad he is in some areas of science in 140 characters...

...retweeted and liked by his fans, but completely wrong as a few aviation/military/engineering nerds (I fall into this latter category) will be happy to point out. You're actually better off in a helicopter without power than an aeroplane.

Nobody can even know a fraction of everything.
