Whoops. Nagual made a mistake I think.

Yup, went out to day and got myself a shiny new 1080 Ti, to go alongside the shiny new Vive I also got today. Downloading stuff as I type. Elite in VR and Star Trek. Nerdasms. Goodbye any "free time" :D

I fail to see where the mistake is. :D

If you learn from your mistakes, then they are nothing but progress. And be prepared to learn a lot.

Gaming on a monitor will not be a thing for you anymore for example, is one thing you will almost instantly learn, just like Balfie said.

When it comes to time investment, i can say, that i play less then before. The game sessions become more intense and you get more immersive action for your time - quality over quantity. Playing in VR is like instant vacation, an ideal thing to do after work, before getting into your home routines. Two or three Elite sessions a week and a few rounds in Project CARS here and there and my desire for playing video games is fullfilled. It sounds odd, but VR had a large positive impact on my quality of life.

So far loving it. Had a bit of teething trouble with the tracking be really weird at times, but that was down to a large mirror. Hate the head strap with a passion. It's far too small, my head feels like a water melon in a vice... lol

It can be a bit uncomfortable if you over-tighten it. Have you tried loosening it out a bit? I think it's best to just barely tighten it.

Mistake? Only if you sold a kidney to finance your new toys. Your going to love VR and that 1080ti will make the most out of it. Congrats.

Also since you are using the original strap I assume make sure the cables that run over your head have some slack. Even if you let the top strap all the way out the cables if not given slack will make the top strap feel tight.

Yeah, I've been playing with the straps, cables, and my headphones. Unfortunately the straps from the Vive insist on attacking the tops of my ears and makes for wearing headphones not so comfortable. The earbuds are passable, just.

eta: Also managed to get SteamVR SS at 2, with renderTarget thingy at 2.5 :) looks not too shabby.. :D
