Hello, I bought another ED and created a windows 10 non-family account. I installed the new ED on my other account. When I go to play the game it puts me in my Corvette. Obviously not a new game. I assume I should have created a new email and account info with ED before downloading into my new user account. Is there a work around at this point ? Thanks boys and girls. o7

Ok I'm stuck at the verification screen. They send me a code, I enter it and back to the verification screen. I created a win 10 2nd account. I created a gmail account. Bought the game and am trying to set it up under those accounts. I renamed the launcher when It downloaded. I think I'm stuck on the verification screen because of windows not FD? Not sure what to do. Have a ticket out there but their backed up. Thanks cmdr's
I have to say that I was under the impression that you only had to install the once and then log into the game launcher with the correct credentials. You would set up two instances of Elite to be able to use the two commanders simultaneously.
Correct. You only need one installation to fly two CMDRs if you're not going to fly them concurrently on the same computer (or if you want to fly one in a 64 bit mode and another in 32 bit on the same computer. I fly two CMDRs at the same time using this method).

Do you have "remember me" selected? If so, uncheck that. Then you can log in and out using your two email accounts. Don't "log out machine". Just choose "log out".

If you want to log in every time then MottiKhan's method is correct.
You can install the second (or more) Elite program to another directory and be able to have shortcuts on your desktop for each. These are mine.
There is another way suggested by Griefed. Quoted below.
Basically, the step to setup another CMDR:
Register a Frontier account to a new email
Purchase the game.
Find your game launcher folder (right click on the shortcut to your game launcher and click Open file location)
Make a new copy of the launcher folder (Ie: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Frontier\EDLaunch - Copy" or anything you'd like)
Right click on EDLaunch.exe from the copy folder and choose copy (or alternatively, hit CTRL+C when you have EDLaunch.exe selected)
On desktop, or where you want the shortcut, right click and choose "Paste Shortcut"
Rename this new shortcut to the name of your new CMDR or however you want
You will now be able to have the 2 account authenticated without having to switch password/email every time. Each folder has it's own authentication, so no code to fetch from the trash email you registered it to.
You will have the possibility to launch each CMDR at the same time if you use the 32 bit version on one and the 64 bit on the other.
There is some other workaround to be able to launch each CMDR on the same 64 bit version, PM me if you need some details.
Update:
For those with steam install and maybe a few other exception, the full game install is located within the game launcher. If that's your situation and want to have 2 launcher without having 2 copy of the game, follow those extra step:
Select the game folder named : \elite-dangerous-64\ (64 bit version) or \FORC-FDEV-D-1010\ (32 bit version)
Cut the folder and paste it (move it) into your user\appdata which should look like this :
C:\Users"your user"\AppData\Local\Frontier_Developments\Products\FORC-FDEV-D-1010
After moving the game install there, any game launcher copy will work without having the game also situated in this copy folder.
For example, I have :
C:\Program Files (x86)\Frontier\EDLaunch
C:\Program Files (x86)\Frontier\EDLaunch - Copy
C:\Program Files (x86)\Frontier\EDLaunch - Copy (1)
C:\Program Files (x86)\Frontier\EDLaunch - Copy (2)... etc
They are all 126mb launcher install instead of full game install.
And also :
C:\Users"your user"\AppData\Local\Frontier_Developments\Products\FORC-FDEV-D-1010 (7.21gb 32bits install)
C:\Users"your user"\AppData\Local\Frontier_Developments\Products\elite-dangerous-64 (8.29gb 64bits install)

don't rename the launcher. rename the file you are installing it too. ex: elite dangerous / elite dangerous2
No you don't. I run two accounts on the same install.

Sadly it didn't work. Basically I have 2 choices. Log in and Register. Resister prompts me for a key code I have no idea where it is. log in sends me a code in enter it and nothing happens. I'm thinking I need to register/redeem the horizons pass. Then Log In ? I can't find the pass code anywhere. ps I don't go through steam. I do not receive an email in junk or anywhere else during the install so I'm baffled.
I have 5 accounts in the game, and I can log into any of them from a single launcher (I can not play on them at the same time though).
All 5 of these accounts have a uniqe email adress that are used to log into FD store.

created a gmail account. bought horizons. digital download. saved the launcher as a different name. created a shortcut to the .exe file. I think I'm good to that point. run launcher and it brings up a different looking box, My 1st cmdr I can hit the blue play button, but this one has two options, sign in and register. If I click sign in it accepts my gmail an new cmdr name and a box pops up, and emails me a verification code. I enter the verification code and hit enter. At that point the box (enter verification code box) vanishes and I'm back at the sign in or register screen. I can sign in again but it just loops. Now if I hit the register button instead of sign in it is looking for a horizon's season pass code. I assume it looks something like KMNDO-LKEJE-MEKJE-MFFEM-MEJFO. a guess based on how many spaces it has and it tells me not to type the dashes. I have no idea where to get this code. gmail didn't junk it and its nowhere in the install process. My thought was the sign in loop is because I should register 1st. I am registered with ED under this new name, maybe not for the season pass its looking for, but I can go in a look at my account so I know that's registered. Hope this helps...thanks again...

Step1: What happens if you launch your original Launcher and log out your 1:st CMDR, and then hit Log In and type in your 2:nd email adress + password?

oh boy...I launch my original launcher and get the "WELCOME DANIEL MOYLAN" screen. At the bottom I have the blue play button. Next to that I have ed horizons 64 or ed 64 or ed 32 and so on to choose to play. As for logging out ? I don't know if I ever do... I just x out of this screen. Now I have two short cuts. One takes me to this screen the other takes me to a similar screen but no blue play button only orange sign in and a orange register (horizons season pass) buttons...

For your second account, did you just buy Horizons, or did you buy the basegame + Horizons? Horizons will not work without the basegame.
