Engineers Engineered Fixed Pluse and PA FDL

I'm contemplating engineering an FDL with four fixed rapid fire pulse lasers and huge a focused PA. Seems like it will be pretty fun.

I've already engineered my my power plant and distributor so I have lots of power bu I'm wondering if I'll still drain the distributor too fast / overheat once I do all the weapons engineering.

Anyone done similar?
 
Rapid fire pulses got a nerf a while back so there is more distributor draw. But 4 rapid fire pulses are still potent against shields and the PA is great against modules so the loadout looks good to me, at least for PVE. I would go all fixed pulses for maximum DPS.

Sounds OK. Your distributor will be greatly taxed so consider a huge cannon.

Also if you wanna do PvP, then having some of them being Long Range might be a good plan
 
The biggest problem I have with this configuration is heat! To fix that I tried to switch the large weapon to an grade 5 efficient beam laser with thermal vent. I thought my problem would then be primarily lost of power given the hunger of the beam laser, and that was partially true, but the heat was still a problem even though I made sure I was on target with the huge weapon.

Unfortunately, I've decided to stay with Huge Thermal Vent Beam Laser and go back to four overcharged multi cannons (with the right effects).

For PvP moments, I'll probably switch the four medium frag cannons with double shot and maybe some effects. Not sure which effects are best for s.

Double shot screening shell for frags. Fast reload.
 
Used 5 efficient plasmas. Fun but still inevitable problems. And I couldn't hit jack :)

i have tried 4 efficient PA with plasmaslug and a Multi with high cap and corrosive effect, if you can hit, that ship slaughters the enemy [big grin]
but the shield need some work [smile]
