Horizons Will new ships be coming to 2.4

With talk of smaller updates progressive to 2.4 are we expecting any newer arrival on the ship front, some players are saying they want bigger (panther) is on everyones mind, but what about some of the more mid size ships.

Elite has many many ships in it's history and we have the quoted amount originally stated from the start but there is always room for more don't you think.
There has been several discussions about this but nothing so recent.
Will frontier be annoucing something through the 2.4 stages owever no beefed up models that we already have :( lets keep it all new.

With the rather unsubtle pointing at the Alliance lately, I wouldn't be surprised to see a medium-sized combat craft or something on the level of the Big Two from that direction.

#SaveThePanther even though I could not afford one. That one is apparently the last one missing from the ships that were announced in some form or another

I played FFE to DEATH in my Panther clipper [large plasma acc was pretty much a one hit, one kill death machine back in those days]. At this point, I live in my cutter so, the Panther clipper would likely be just a nostalgia buy.... unless it turns out to be superior to the cutter.

Definitely needs to be some small and medium ships, plus another large ship too.

I'd like to see another exploration vessel too

As always i'm hoping for something new in the same class like the Python. She is so absolutely dominant in all purposes just because there isn't any real other option.
Please give us something comparable to her to make it less...Python?!? :D

I'd like to see some federal navy and imperial navy varients of some ships with an extra optional internal or military slot given out as mission rewards for long chain mission

my Dad has the boxed -original frontier elite 2- for amiga 1200-
it looks brand new ,and the manuals and books look spotless--a huge map ,(with the plots where he traveled .)
there is ever the receipt in the box..lol
any one know... Peterborough-future zone store? the date of purchase 1st November 1993. and cost $29.99..(that is u.k pounds..not Au-dollars .)

he has the first encounters somewhere,but he said he preferred to play elite 2

Sweet I have my acorn electron Boxed version from 1984 it's like an indiana moment finding that in the loft. lol, But agree there are plenty more ships to go so hopefully FD are listening and we will se some more, I do miss the early days when FD would release a new ship we all got to see it in concept then the real thing then couldnt wait to test..come along FD lets gets some more ships going and alliance ones as well.

The wonderful thing about FFE was the ships had a secondary difference in performance... alas one that ED cannot repeat, you see and you remember they had G's acceleration for interplanetary travel

The Adder had 18g acceleration and 8g retro
Cobra Mk III 20, acceleration and 7g retro
Boa was 8g, main and 4g retro
Panther Clipper had 6g and 3g retro

It makes me sad that so little of the well known, classic Elite content can be found in Elite Dangerous. The most visible ones we got are a very FEW space ships: the Sidewinder, the Cobra Mk III, the ASP Explorer. Further the Coriolis starport and the flight model. That's all.

There are of course some things inspired by Frontier Elite: The Eagle, the Galaxy, travelling though space. But how about all these classic vessels: The Krait, Mamba, Moray, Gecko? The Dodo-starport? I really miss that classic Elite content every time I play Elite Dangerous.

At least I would like to see the military Asp Mk II with increased cargo, buffed weaponry or whatever (stronger shields and/or hull). Panther Clipper? I don't know, but if it could carry much more cargo compared to a Cutter - why not?

The ASP Mk II was originally a military vessel, so I assume it would not be an improved trade version of the ASP Explorer. ;) I forgot to mention that we also knew the Cobra Mk I and that giving well known classic ships a completely new design (the Adder, urgh) not necessarily give us the classic feel of Elite.

Hey Imo, don't get me wrong, I would definitely like to see a distinct military Asp. If this would cut cargo space, that's fine with me.
