Unacceptable Palin Mission

Was in space somewhere when I notices I had a message:
Alien Items Needed 1 units of unknown resin
Deliver to Maia Point.


I try and accept it by selecting the Tick - but it does nothing.
So I go and collect a unit of Unknown Resin from an alien site.
I still can't accept the mission
I dock at Maia Point and I still can't accept the mission!

I've logged it as a bug - anyone else got any ideas ?

I suspect if I try and reject it I'll end up getting another mission for a random unknown substance and knowing my luck it won't be resin!

Does it have any material/data rewards and do you have room for them if so? I got stuck unable to hand a mission in or so I thought, until someone pointed that out. It was my data bank full that got me.

Nice idea, but no. Reward is only 431,365CR - I have and data and material space too.

I actually think it was time limited and the time ran out - so that's annoying. Giving me a mission request message that timed out before I actually saw it!
Worse it doesn't make it obvious and still display the 'tick' option to accept it.

I guess I'll just chalk it up to a UI design fail - expired mission invites look identical to non-expired ones.

This missions design is totally ridiculous. With an UA in the cargo, this mission does not appear at all. In short: FD wants you every time a new UA concern. Even if you know that you need a UA you can not get any before. This mission is not only underpaid, but also designed silly grinding. Again an example for dumb missionsdesign and avoiding success experiences. Normally it would be: Hey you have UA's? Then please get me the appropriate materials. Is simply no fun to repeat.

Have you got 2 CRCR? Obsidian Ant said in his recent video that you need at least 2x CRCR to accept a mission for Palin at Obsidian Orbital.

Yep - I have two.
I think Mr Ant was saying you need CRCR to be given the mission, not to accept it. ( but I could be wrong )

No surprise, I cancelled that mission and landed at Mr Ant's station and got offered another mission - and of course it's for 1 Unit of Unknown Biological Matter - and not for 1 Unit of Unknown Resin - that I still have

But hey - they nerfed the ruins mission. At least they are working on it.

I really liked the palin mission! It as a fun 2-3 hour long unique quest. I found it fairly effective at introducing a non alien hunter to the mystery. It was also fantastic at showcasing the amazing artwork created for the upcoming chapters of gameplay. It was one of the few things I've done in this game that stuck with me after completion.

I played on xbox and everything worked like a charm for me. I went to obsidian orbital and received the mission w/o CRCRs, picked up everything I needed afterward and was grossed out and repulsed by the alien structures in no time (I mean that as a compliment, the structures are truly alien looking).

Sorry it didn't work as well for everyone else! I really enjoyed it and hope we get more stuff like this in the future!
