Hardware & Technical GTX 550 TI perfomance

Hello everyone,

I would like to hear your experiences on the beta with GTX 550 TI graphics at Full HD, and the perfomance in stress scenarios (big battles, travelling, etc). And last, how important is CPU in this regard?

A friend of mine has this graphic card, and would like to know if he will need an update or will suffice.

It is better to upgrade the GPU. GTX550Ti specifications are about the same as for the GTX260, which is listed in the minimal requirements. So generally your friend can expect about 10-20fps in FullHD and of course the graphics settings should be lowered.

The cheapest GPU that your friend should be aimed at is GTX750Ti or GTX660 or R7 260X or R9 270. And of course they should have at least 2GB VRam.

i have a ati 7850 1gb, i get 60+ fps in almost all situations so far with maxed graphics. though i also have it oced to 1050mhz and my cpu is an i5 oced to 4.5 ghz.

i did do the sp combat glitch to be able to move to different systems. went to a gas giant with rings, supercruised to rings which in turn is a very dense asteroid field. this was the only point my game chugged at 20-30fps. not to0 worried since there were hundreds of thousands of asteroids on screen. and that will be a rare occurence

I don't know about the 550, but I'm using a GTX 560 Ti and get a solid 60 fps everywhere except when supercruising past ringed planets when it stutters every few seconds, but that's a game engine implementation issue that at this time effects all hardware.

1. GTX560Ti is about twice as good as GTX550Ti.
2. Which resolution and graphic settings?

It does not affect all hardware as I do not have such problems at all. However, this might be caused e.g. by not enough VRam.
