Increase insurance for Griefers

Griefers should be considered Terrorists. They should be even more wanted than Pirates !

As they are universally wanted and cannot get insurance anywhere from Black Market, they have to pay a lot more for it.
At the beginning they have no insurance at all, their ship is red marked with no insurance. If they want one they have to go to Black Market section to get it.

After they got blown up they have to repay for the most expensive ships they used for griefing (FDev proposal) and as their insurance is low, like 50% for highest griefers, they have to pay a fairly high amount of money.

It would reduce Griefings for a while and it would add some risks for them. It would not destroy PvP as they still have a lot of money and should weight the consequences of theirs acts.

TL;DR "I have no idea how the game operates and am yet another naive believer that we should just punish all player conflict because it would protect mah feels, but don't realise it would change naff all".

What is griefing? That is the question that needs be be cleared first.

Example:
My playerfaction looses influence because specific commanders decide to flip our systems. I interdict and kill them if i meet them in open (happens not often and when i meet one, they combat log -.-' ).
They would call me a griefer, i call that myself legit gameplay to prevent them, fooling around with our playerfaction.

Who is right? Can you tell?

Actual summary of an ED griefer: someone that harasses a player by means of insulting comms and/or persistent attacking

What the forum thinks a griefer is: anyone that attacks another player

What that actually is: someone playing the game and may be taking part in a role, whether immediately visible or not

So yeah, "griefers" should be treated badly - by FD and punitive measures, because "griefing" is against ToS.

Murder...is part of the universe. C&P is already being looked at for controlling gankage, especially where newer players are on the receiving end, you cannot put a flat penalty on murderers because too much of ED can rely on it (as you point out well), and OP is just a flat suggestion for something already being talked about which literally says "I don't care about the PvP repercussions".

Okay, let's just discuss removal of solo/PG because "they too have a lot of money and should think about the consequences of their actions" and see how far we get playing cards like that ;)

Defenition of an Elite Dangerous griefer :
Usually Griefers are weak people that attack weak lonely ship with a lot of friends with the most engineered ships. They destroy you even though you drop your cargo, they are only here to kill, they are murderes not pirates. If you happens to be stronger than them, they run away like cowards and they call it survival. They also join Multi-Crew sessions to shoot cops instead of wanted ships to ruin your game experience. They only plays in open for griefing. Otherwise they play in solo/private... You can never hunt them back. (I met a few of them and i have them in friend list now. I saw how they plays...)

There could be a report button for griefing. The system could automatically lower griefing status : If a Cmders shoot a ship but don't destroy it and recover his cargon, he got +1 as a pirate status and -1 as a terrorist/griefer.

Simple as that.
