I've returned after a few months away

Hello all! I last played this game early January of this year, but have been away since then. There's been a lot of great changes which I love! Already renamed my ship and created my character. But what else have I missed? Anything important I should be aware of?

Welcome back CMDR
Yes you have missed a FEW things.
Mostly the ENTIRE plot leading to the discovery of Thargoid bases and the destruction of a Federation Fleet carrying Thargoid artefacts.
But maybe the ONLY thing that will affect you PERSONALLY is a bug on Planetary Bases.
Once you approach the No Fire Zone skimmers will spawn NOT on the ground but a few KM in the air and start falling like dead flies.
If they hit the ground they just bounce around a bit and then go on their merry way.
If one of them bounces off your Shields .... the BASE will mark you as WANTED and destroy your ship within seconds.
So yeah .... welcome back.
PS ... if thats not exciting enough .... other Players in open will probably place a mine on your landing spot in any CG Space Station.
This will 1. Stop you from landing 2. Accelerate you at over the speed limit in a random direction 3. Cause you to hit the station or another ship and gain a bounty.
4. Probably Destroy you as well
PPS .. So yeah welcome back

Oh wow, a Fed fleet was destroyed??

And haha yeah I noticed the skimmers acting a bit odd! Thanks for this, I'll be careful when landing in future!

Still glad to be back! I love this game! No other game comes close to how amazing and awesome it is.

Welcome back!

Yes, there are alien encounters, if you can trigger them (i can't!), a destroyed fleet somewhere, several alien bases, including a one active one, and loads of other goodies.

But yes, do watch out for the skimmer bug. Aim to drop out of glide a km or two short of the base, never above it.
Then wait until you see the skimmer rain. Lol

Also the new camera suite is excellent. :)
